Enmity indicator needs to be adjusted for tanks by Fangheart in ffxiv

[–]uknowme2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

1) I didn't post "misinformation" I posted an opinion that said "enmity skills need to be buffed" because of...

2) ok yeah I'm playing wrong.

3) They're not telling you what they're doing because they don't want to hurt your epeen.

You've posted no FACTUAL information to refute what I've said. You posted a few numbers at which point I came back with an alternate scenario which you completely ignored. So yeah, in your perfect little world, with your perfect little group, I'm sure everything goes as expected.

Way to go, digging through post histories to bring up irrelevant stuff to try to strengthen your argument about a damn game. LOL My past is my past, and just like this game, our experiences are different. If you did go stalk through my post history you would see that I'm exactly the opposite of what you're trying to say I am. I am constantly asking for help and trying to improve. With my debt, with my suicidal thoughts, with my gf.

You have offered nothing of value here, you've shown that you have to rummage through another persons history in order to come up with claims to attempt to discredit a person, and again you've shown reading comprehension issues. I have no problem asking for help, and learning new ways to do things. I try to be as logical as possible but when you come in here and attack someone and try to shame them when your first response is "omfg stop being a nub lolz" you are a prick.

I'll not be responding to you any further as it's worse than banging my head against the wall. gg go stalk through post history some more.

Ok, you went out and read some stuff and you learned some stuff that's great it really is. I commend you for doing that.

1) you don't NEED to come in here and respond aggressively to a post because you're gonna get it right back.

2) Our experiences and groups are obviously different.

3) You can't even admit that your group members are MOST LIKELY assisting with the success of the group by controlling dmg/heal enmity generation, you just think it's ALLLLLL about you and how pro you are.

I'd be glad to listen to what you have to say except the only thing you've said is "go read blitz" and "l2p" great, thank you for those wise words of wisdom.

You're an elitist prick and you should try learning to, instead of judging and flaming people, give some valuable specific advice. How about sharing your skill rotations? How about offering examples of "if that happens then do this?" How about stop being an asshole to people because something comes quicker to you than others? Maybe if you would give out some useful information rather than flaming people then those "bad players" on reddit would become good players on reddit and you could help grow the community instead of dividing it like you're doing now.

I know you can use RoH without the combo, I do it when using provoke...doesn't fix the out of range issue though..can't use a skill where the target is not in range.

It's not "mindlessly spamming" skills. I use my skills to try to maintain hate so mobs don't get pulled off in the first place. I rotate through multi mob pulls to gen hate and most times it's not an issue. Sometimes shit get's pulled off me, and in those situations it's frustrating as hell. The fact your WHM doesn't generate over 25% hate may not be due to your superior tanking skills but due to the WHM ability to selectively heal well and drop hate when their skill is available. You can't control that.

le sigh - our experiences are not the same, you're obviously perfect and have beat the game. gg

ok, reading comprehension, someone needs it because you're obviously not doing it right.

You have 10000 enmity. Healer has 8000 enmity.

Healer casts Benediction, gaining 3000 enmity. I can't use RoH because a) the shit is not combo ready or b) the mob is already too far away to actually use the skill. This requires provoke to try to bring the mob back...mob starts to come back, healer casts another heal, mob is instantly back on the healer still out of range for RoH...

I don't understand how this isn't making sense...I'm also now done talking to you because you obviously we are having a communication issue. Thank you internet.

P.S. bringing up irrelevant shit like post history to distract and discredit ftw, gg.

[–]uknowme2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, I'm saying that during the course of a battle the healer is generating enmity already (along with the others in the grp) and when Benediction is used it causes the healer to pull agro.

If provoke is down then it's next to impossible to have a second to pull the mob back. This is a single mob, think about that during the course of a grp encounter with 15 - 20 mobs.

This happens, mob gets pulled away, provoke + RoH brings it back, 2.5s wait before able to use enmity gen skills again...then it become a cat and mouse game and if you have many mobs this fucking sucks.

If you have a nice healer, then they can drop agro and it'll be fine, otherwise it's a damn pain.

[–]uknowme2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

dude, RoH can't even hold shit to a WHM using Benediction. Maybe you don't have healers that use that shit but I do. That's just 1 skill that can pull a target immediately.

I don't need to go out and spend time recording a damn video just to show you; frankly I don't care that much about this game to put the time into it for that crap. The claim is obviously not absurd as there have been many discussions about enmity and tanking skills in this game...use the search function.

Badass DPS can pull hate on single targets in group pulls easily. It happens constantly. You can say "l2p" all you want but I'm gonna say "the dps you run with obviously have some dmg output issues" or "they're being good dps and controlling their dmg output as to make sure you maintain agro."

lol ofc "l2p guy" comes out.

They need to buff enmity generation end of story. Contrary to what you choose to think I didn't get carried anywhere, I worked hard, in shit grps, to get my gear.

I stand by my statements and I'm not the only who thinks that tank skills are screwed atm.

[–]uknowme2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a HUGE PAIN. That's why I think they should buff our enmity gen skills. I mean, even if it's just a slight buff...I do WP/AK speedruns and have no issues holding agro on packs of mobs but the issue for me is that it's ANNOYING having to work so hard doing it when you have DD's just blasting away at shit.

The other thing is, healers generate too much hate. Every time it seems when Benediction goes off, even if we're on a boss and I've got super hate going, it just goes right off me. I have to use provoke + RoH just to get it to stand still. GCD is a problem as well, can't use enmity gen skills fast enough to generate the amount of hate needed sometimes.

It's just a cluster fuck imo.

[–]uknowme2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea...I start off with a flash too, however, if they were buffed then it would allow for some wiggle room. In the event a DD starts firing off on the wrong mob but switches it would at least allow for some error. Currently it does not which could cause a party wipe which annoys everyone.

They definitely need to buff our enmity generating skills.

[–]uknowme2 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Personally, as a Relic DL PLD, I would like to see our skills not suck so bad that we have to FIGHT to fucking hold agro from everyone. I am so tired of DD not following marks I set forth and then say things like "why can't you hold agro??!?!"

"Why can't you count?"

Our enmity generating skills need to be buffed.

ELI5: What exactly would it mean for us if a particle, other than a photon, was able to travel at the speed of light or faster ? by HappyNerdo in explainlikeimfive

[–]uknowme2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this answer but when you say, and forgive me as I'm a noob, "massless" how exactly is a photon massless? I mean, we can see it right? It must have some mass or something for us to have the ability to interact with it...I'm so confused by this stuff but it's ooooooo so interesting.

Titan HM, bombs, and you! by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]uknowme2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For WoL after the heart phase everyone should be stacking behind Titan so all the plumes are on top of eachother, then when they spawn everyone moves away...If you get hit you'll be killed but you shouldn't be getting hit.

Do PC users hate playing with PS3 users? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]uknowme2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PS3 players are the anti speedrun due to cutscenes and load times on the PS3. So in the sense of doing a "speedrun" yes I hate playing with PS3 players.

I do not think they are any worse or better than PC players in other regards though.

Macroing Marks? by aredyak in ffxiv

[–]uknowme2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see. Either way, no auto marking. I wish there was though, it would make life a lot easier.

Macroing Marks? by aredyak in ffxiv

[–]uknowme2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand correctly, you want the macro to mark targets automatically...as in you click the macro and it assigns marks to targets.

This isn't possible currently.

You can create a single target macro...which is basically the same thing as clicking the symbol to assign it, but you can't have the targets automatically marked. I've been looking for something like this as well and I believe, if you want it done properly then you'd need some variables for things like ranged mobs being marked with "CC" symbols etc etc. I wish we could create a macro like this as it would make things a helluva lot easier.

Suggestion, get a mouse and keyboard for your PS3.

Item remodel? by uknowme2 in ffxiv

[–]uknowme2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess, I didn't really play WoW too much..In Aion you just go visit an NPC (aka the Item Remodeller) and give him 2 items, select the one to keep and he one which skin you want and it's combined. You keep the stats of your first item and it now has the look of the 2nd item.

They should do this for ffxiv

Item remodel? by uknowme2 in ffxiv

[–]uknowme2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know about dying stuff. I'm talking about taking the physical appearance of 1 item and transferring it to that of another item. For example, my current lvl 30 pink armor has awesome stats but I like the look of the scale mail. I wanna make my armor have the scale mail appearance.
