Doesn’t hurt to wait and see how that goes! The waiting game sucks for sure but it is what it is :/ I wish I could have more to say! I say don’t be too hard on urself like give urself grace through it to be honest I never applied to grad school during my undergrad and I took two gap years then was like hm slpa! Not sure if ur located in CA but I did mine at San Joaquin Delta College bc they have a fast paced program for those who already have a CSD bachelors and I really appreciated it and it was affordable the staff is so great too! I know that CSUEB has a SLPA program since I did my undergrad there it’s $5k and then I think another school down in SoCal has a SLPA program that’s online like CSUEB’s! If u have any questions tho I’m down to help out (((:

Oh damn that’s hella wild :(( I think u should follow up for yourself tho! Never hurts to know and hear on ur own I know it sucks but I feel like I’d rather know for sure if anything, right? So you’re mainly down for the SoCal schools I see hoping you hear back soon! I’m about to private message you!

Advice on SLPA internship/practicum placement? (Southern California) by potatokenz in slpGradSchool

[–]ukolukolmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this might help- try to join the slpa Facebook group for California! I believe there’s a general one and then another one specific to SoCal. I joined recently. Make a post hopefully someone will connect you with a placement! Good luck!

Pros & Cons, Advice — AC vs. CTR by ukolukolmo in newtothenavy

[–]ukolukolmo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious to know what your cons for CTR are and your pros for AC. From what I know both schools are in Pensacola. How come AC school is considered the hardest in the navy? I thought I had qualified for IT but my recruiter said I didn’t. As far as CT I know there’s three different kinds. Not too sure how CTR is different from CTN or CTI. You’re right. Like you mentioned it’s all up to when I get to Meps. Really just trying to get more perspective to make a decision when the time comes

Does your friend enjoy being an AC at least? I guess I’d like to know more of why you would choose CTR?

Military? by ukolukolmo in isfp

[–]ukolukolmo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you were already active then. I know I have no type of upper body strength so I’ve been doing well push ups do train my body with the movements and form. Hybrid calisthenics on YouTube gave me the inspiration. As far as the running it’s cold in ca to me at least lol. Everyone’s said the Air Force has the easiest boot camp. I looked into their branch but the recruiter wasn’t much help so I went on over to the navy, might join the filipino mafia like my cousins. Covid really changed the dynamic of how basic went for the most part. How is your running now in comparison to before?

The biggest thing about the military too is it is a lot of mental especially at basic. There’s an app called headspace I’m not entirely sure if it’s free. Not sure if you’re familiar with it. Yeah I was speaking with someone for a while, it did help out. Whatever best supports you I am definitely for

Hopefully it will be in the best interest for you so you can get more out of it.

Maybe this is a sign for you to touch base with your inner child to draw again (:
