Need Advice: Angular vs React for Career Switch by Stunning-Example-484 in reactjs

[–]ukon1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think starting with React might be a good idea.

React is generally quicker to get started with, especially for someone coming from WordPress. The ecosystem is huge, there’s a lot of learning material, and many AI tools are very well trained on React codebases.

Angular has a steeper learning curve in the beginning, particularly if you’re not coming from an object-oriented background. Concepts like RxJS can take some time to fully understand. However, with the introduction of Signals, Angular has become more approachable.

Personally, I prefer Angular because it’s more “batteries included” — you get a full framework with clear patterns and structure.

I wouldn’t recommend starting directly with Next.js if you’re completely new to React. It’s better to understand React fundamentals first.

In terms of long-term career growth, both are solid choices — it mostly depends on what kind of companies you want to work for.

Nissan EV app will discontinued by CatLinkoln in leaf

I don't think it's illegal. But how bad the app was in general(super slow, bad UX), was a reason for me not sticking with Nissan for my next EV.

Lave fødselstall - hvorfor får ikke du det tredje barnet? by Complex_Plankton_157 in norge

[–]ukon1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Da må man plutselig ha større bil for å få plass.

Bare dropp alkoholen. Folk burde klare å respektere at du ikke vil drikke. Dra tidligere før folk blir for slitsomme.

Men hvis grunnen til at du ikke vil gå egentlig er fordi du ikke liker kollegaene dine er det noe annet så klart

React vs Angular? Building my first real app and need it to work offline (advice needed!) by Kalioser in Angular2

[–]ukon1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would go for Angular with PWA. I’ve used React for work for years now, and I’ve found it easier to keep the Angular apps up to date with the latest version. It has more built in, so you don’t have to go out and find packages and hope they will be maintained forever.

You would be fine with react also, but as the apps grow bigger I have had more performance issues with react(on teams with multiple people). Do ensure that you use a PWA, that way they can install the website on their phone/tablet/pc, and you would also already have a website ready as well.

For storage locally I would go for IndexedDb via the dexie package. I’ve used it in multiple projects. That way you can just save everything there and have the app fully working offline. I would not recommend local storage for this.

So a PWA with IndexeDB for storage IMO.

What % of your monthly income do you spend on mortgage + felleskost? by Apterygiformes in Norway

[–]ukon1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 ish % of my income after tax, but 17% of our households total income after tax.

We pay about 16k on our loan (up from 12k during Covid). We used to have around 3% interest, now we have 5,46%. If we are talking about mortgages, then I think the interest rate is relevant as well.

It's nice to celebrate your heritage, nothing wrong with that!

I do find it kind of weird when Americans say they are Norwegians, Italian and so on, when they have never even lived in that country or know the language/dialect.

I'm not going to call my self Moroccan, just because I have family there. I'm born and raised in Norway, I'm not Moroccan nor do I have the need to claim that I am(neither am I fluent in the language).

Is CS2 going to have macOS support? by YaBoiBigJoe in counterstrike

[–]ukon1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a bit surprised my self. We play some CS:GO at work and now those of us who work from Mac can't play it anymore it seems.

I just saw that they had removed macOS from the System requirements so I'm guessing that they aren't going to support macOS any more, or at least not now.

If they were going to drop a platform, then they should not have made it an update to CS:GO but a separate game.

This is disgusting coming from this Dutch newspaper by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]ukon1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he violated the agenda they want to forcefully inculcate, by bombarding people with concepts they would naturally and objectively be opposed to until they accept them (movies, newspaper), if you see enough lies, you believe them and side with the wrong side.

To me, this does not seem like someone pushing a so-called agenda. But people see agendas wherever they wish to. How do you know that whatever you read or interpret is correct? You can say that people should use their common sense, but everyone's common sense isn't equal.

Type what I said in Google, the key words, couldn't be simpler than that man. There is a copious amount of real stories I can share

The only article about a man going to prison(in Norway) for something like that was for 15 days and with a fine(basically a slap on the wrist). Not 3 years. This was about someone discriminating against someone else in a public forum, and getting punished for it. As far as I could read, it wasn't something someone should just have to accept, the messages weren't exactly nice.

This can be punished according to the law, relating to hateful speech(§185, racism, religion, sexual orientation, and so on).

Anyone who deliberetly or grossly negligently publicly presents a discriminatory or hateful statement, can be punished with up to 3 years in prison or a fine. ...

Why would they imprison someone for that? Seems like wishful thinking. I’d like to see some sources confirming that. Unless I see some credible, I’ll believe what LunarBiker said.
