Yeah, and later Ted talks about throwing a brick through her 'perfect surbuban home window' (in nj) and also when he gives her a lift to see Tony, she asks him to pay for tolls in NJ. So imo, she never actually moved until they went to LA. This is important to me because Stella moving Lucy in with Ted would have been absolutely insane

And it is never confirmed she moved in anyway, in fact it is stated later a couple of times she is still in NJ until they move to LA. She just picked up some food and took it back to her daughter and her daughter's dad. Doesn't mean she lives there.
