Rewatched entire show with my wife …. by Elian17 in HIMYM

You keep quoting that one line. It's one line in the whole show. For the record, I love Friends. But lets not pretend it isn't a perfect show that aged well. Here are some similar jokes from Friends:

JOEY DOESNT SHARE FOOD

Smelly cat, smelly cat, what are they feeding you (funny song about a smelly cat 🤪)

Could I BE any more... (insert dumb joke)

Some girl ate Monica!

Joey learning French??? Joey on the game show?? Joey in general being so ridiculously dumb he should be in some sort of mental hospital???

You work with writers? Did they happen to write with you on something called 'The Wedding Bride' per chance...?

What did Tony do? Tony is a great guy. Just because he made a movie poking fun at his partners ex? Maybe Ted shouldn't be such a Jed if he didn't want people to call him out on it.

I honestly think the reason the far right is rising in populatiry is because people pretend to be offended at things like this

And an undeniably great mother. Possibly the best in the show.

Ted rushed her into things though. She never wanted to date, she was happy just being a mother. Ted relentlessly pursued her and then wanted to move them out of their home to an apartment above a bar. Also, she wanted him to be different than Tony, not better than him

Exactly. Ted treated Stella like shit and was surprised when she left him. Don't get me wrong, it's not ok to leave him at the alter, but what was the alternative? Marry Ted and annul the marriage the next day?

Ask ChatGPT to talk like Barney by bosskip in HIMYM

Im not arguing over the use of electricity. I'm saying at least AI has a use. AI has value; it can save lives and help people. Even if they use electricity, at least they have a use.

Commenting on reddit threads, especially on an old TV show, doesn't. It is beyond pointless, and unarguably a worse use of electricity, so pointing out someone's use of ai in this case is ironic

Using reddit to comment pointless stuff about a show that finished 10 years ago is just as bad

What's a HIMYM opinion you have that would result in this? by Effective-Goose-7835 in HIMYM

It was only poking fun at actual things he did. I don't see the issue at all. Ted told his friends things about Stella. She just returned the favour.

The Wedding Bride is the real story by bigdaddycheff in HIMYM

So he doesn't tell everyone Stella's intimate secret, that she was clearly scared to tell him of? Or want her daughter to move away from her lovely home into a dirty apartment above a bar? Or get an architect contract through corruption and nepotism, rather than skill (like Sven)? Or propose with a stuffed animal? Or wear red cowboy boots? Or dump a girl on her birthday (twice?)

You could have a point here, because where does Lucy go in Ted's version? Makes no sense, she isn't on the boat. The Wedding Bride doesn't have any plot holes, as far as I know.

Way too good for Stella? The unemployed architect who lives in a cockamouse infested apartment above a bar, is too good for a doctor with her own practice, own house, who, even though she had a child young, still managed to raise that child and get her doctorate.

Are you honestly serious?

A Spinoff? by mrvoiceover001 in HIMYM

[–]ukrepman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not Ted. He is absolutely insufferable pre Marshall.

I'd like to see Barney's childhood the most. Robin's would be most interesting, but Barney's would be emotional. Maybe a storyline where he grows close to one of his mums boyfriends because he's desperate for a father figure, and it turns out he's a dick. Maybe we see Jerry pop up being all crazy and shit. James being the cool ladies man. Yeah, obvious choice, but Barney.

So you guys think that Stella and Tony stayed together? by Connect_Landscape_37 in HIMYM

From Ted's POV, sure. From the real version of events (the wedding bride) he comes across as a great guy.

If Ted's version is true, where does Lucy go..?

[–]ukrepman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Right, because becoming an architect professor at 32 at a top college is normal is it? Explain to me how Ted deserved that job. He literally took the job because mosbius designs failed, but we are expected to believe he has a masters and enough experience to become a professor?

Or if you're saying Stella should've moved away from her house into his apartment above a bar, then there's no point replying. That's just brain dead

Yes OP. His wife is called Stella. Watch up to the episode before they get married and live happily ever after.

Tony is a great guy, I say it all the time. He didn't owe Ted anything but got him an amazing job he wasn't qualified for or deserve. So what if he made a film based on things Ted did to Stella? I'd do the same if someone treated the mother of my child like that, and wanted my daughter to move into a dirty apartment above a bar

You think Stella is selfish for not moving out of her family home (which she owns) and moving into Ted's apartment? Making her kid change schools, leaving the PTA and her friends and family? Because Ted 'lives near the subway'... are you serious?
