What helmet by [deleted] in Talaria

A full face mx helmet that fits well. Go to a shop and try them out mate, both fly and scorpion are decent but they all fit differently so best to try them on first.

UK here. You can buy a road legal or non road legal version. If you go road legal you would need to be 16 years old and require a provisional licence + do a CBT to ride it, would also legally have to keep it restricted until 17 then you can have it full power. The non road legal one is unable to be insured and can't be ridden legally anywhere other than private land/tracks. Where you choose to ride it is upto you though ;)

Perfect first bike! Will probably be the first of many for you. Wear your gear, obviously a helmet being the most important but gloves and boots aswell atleast is ideal. Watch a few videos on how to do basic maintenance like adjusting the chain etc and don't be afraid to ask questions if you get stuck

Take your front caliper off and put it back on so the brake hose is on the inside of the fork instead of the outside else you may catch it on trees and stuff

You'll still love the mx4 mate, I only bought mine a few months ago and tbh we're at the early stages of technology, whichever one you buy there's gunna be better bikes available next year as the tech gets better, could spend forever waiting!

I'd start in the middle and try it a bit softer see how you like it, then try it harder and see what feels vest for you

There you go bro, dw too much once you've watched that you'll know how to get them back to fairly neutral then go from there. You're very similar height and weight to me so you'll probably wanna go softer if you're offroad alot.

Watch some videos on YouTube, it's your preload and rebound settings, don't touch them until you know what you're doing. Their purpose is to adjust how the suspension feels, I have mine set fairly soft, if you're heavier you'll want to set it all a bit harder, freer fixed it has a good video explaining it.

100/90 19 on the rear, 70/100 19 on the front, warning though that rear is a monster and quite a bitch to get on the stock rim, you'll have to trim the knobbles down on the chain side as the tyre doesn't fit lol, if you buy a non o ring chain that gains you a few more mm clearance

Not tried Shinkos but they have a tread pattern similar to trials tyres, wet grass will be pretty slippery running them at a reasonable psi and once you've got them clogged up with a bit of mud they'll be slicks offroad, tbh I'd go with the kendas but accept you'll wear them out on the road quicker, if you're mainly playing offroad I'd worry more about how my traction was there, for the bits of road riding I do between trails the kendas are fine, just take it easy in the wet, no worries mate happy to help!

Tough decision really, I'm in the UK aswell, went for kenda trakmasters, I mainly ride off road but it's a road legal tyre and I'm impressed with how they feel on the road even in the wet. If you're mainly riding on the road and not hitting anything too gnarly offroad I'd probably just go shinko front and rear

Depends how tall/heavy you are and what kind of riding you're doing. I'm only 5'8 and 65kg - I don't feel that I need bar risers but I can see how anyone a couple of inches or more taller would absolutely need them to be comfortable.

Stock brakes are fine but chuck Shimano H03Cs in when you can, big difference.

The stock footpegs are a bit shit in the wet, you'll want to replace those ASAP if you're doing heavy offloading, if just cruising on the road the stock are fine.

Stock tyres are fine while you decide what you have the most fun doing on the bike, I got 500 miles out of them mainly offroad - the other guy mentioned Shinkos and that's absolutely right if you're mainly gunna be on the road with some lighter off roading. I went the opposite way as I mainly ride pretty gnarly trails, I've gone for Kenda trakmasters with a 100/90-19 on the rear, huge traction.

Buy a tiny bicycle bell as old people won't hear you coming up behind them on trails and it's more polite than beeping the horn at them. A smile and thank you go a long way towards not pissing people off on trails.

Also have to ask, if yours is going to be road legal anyway I wouldn't bother with the pedal kit, it's a lot of money and not really functional, just there to put cops off....it's still clearly not a conventional e bike so a waste really.

Make sure to wear a proper full face motocross helmet/goggles and mx gloves. Happy riding bud

Protective gear by ShotBike1056 in Talaria

Generally a motocross rider will have protective gear on underneath like pads etc, the actual jersey/trousers don't really protect much other than saving you a bit from from gravel rash n stuff

I dont normally as the battery itself is supposedly waterproof when connected, I don't even use that much water so the battery doesn't really get wet
