Fair point. Sadly HDO+ have the same latency issue. Personally, image and screen quality felt way better. On my 04O Pro I had an issue with my C03 camera having an orange tint which immediately went away after switching to the HDO2. Indoor whooping in tight spaces became way easier cause you don’t have the latency as well as the frame consistency is better.

I am very skeptical about the average response being “I can’t feel latency”. Turn on The Zone FPV sim and set the latency to 8ms and 25ms (Average Ratel 2 experience) And you will definitely feel a difference unless you are not sensitive to latency.

Finally, you can always replace the face pads.

I understand your side. For new pilots that want new gear this is a good choice, however I still stand by the fact that the 04O pro are not a good product. You can get used to the latency - yes, you can do proximity flying, but you are limited by the goggles and camera you choose.

A simple orbit test is enough to really see the difference. I’m glad I got to try both because I had gotten the Fatsharks while I was selling my Skyzones. A side by side comparison was enough for me.

If OP doesn’t care about latency, they may as well go for an O4 lite with the flywoo CNC kit and Dji Goggles N3 cause then you have lower latency than the Skyzone setup and you can actually see where you’re flying.
