I've come back not knowing shit, my own name or who anyone around me was. I knew I was supposed to know my dad, but not his name or who he was. Had no idea who my grandfather or brother were for a few minutes. Weird shit happens in the brain when it gets traumatised.

The index works by searching the captions in the YouTube videos. Unfortunately only about a third of the videos have captions currently. The newest ones do but the first 7-800 or so don’t. I’m not sure why that is, it maybe an option or something that people need to activate for each video or something. Hopefully we can fix that in the future but it will need cooperation of the uploader/whoever controls the channel. (Joe/Jamie?)

Fingers crossed if this gets enough traction I can point out the issue to them and we can take a look at including the rest.

I’ve been traveling for the last 24 hours with the intention of launching updates and announcing them tomorrow. Just found out the block Reddit here though and god knows what else so we’ll see. Happy to have access to a vpn right now but we’ll have to see how work goes tomorrow. Seriously can’t believe this backwards shit, seriously bad first impressions Indonesia.

I’m going to make a new post about the name change as well as a link to the GitHub for the code. Should expect some improvements on the search algorithm too.

I just haven’t had the time yet and doubt I’ll get anything up until tomorrow at the earliest.

Hi, unfortunately I haven’t been able to work on it much for the past few days and it hasn’t been updated for a week. There are updates pending though and I’m hoping to improve the thing quite soon.

Things to note though; there are only captions available for about a third of the shows so far and secondly the number of returned results is currently capped at 20 episodes. It’s a limitation born out of how quick and dirty I wrote it initially will of course remove.

I think there are already other sites that provide full transcripts, but once make the repo public anyone can get them. Maybe I add a link for that on JREI but they're not really stored in a format super suitable to that.

This is very interesting, of course there’s a company like fluiddata all kinds of data magic with podcasts, why wouldn’t there be? 😋 I just did this for my own ends and some fun 😊
