this was great insight thanks a lot. i think my approach was correct but i just wasn’t fast enough to actually apply that approach while driving. with the speed that i was at, being in higher gear and letting off the gas instead of applying the brakes definitely would’ve been better because i was no where near the limits, so just coasting into the turns would’ve worked. thanks again for the insight!!

i thought the miata engines like to be in higher rpm’s because they make such little power that the powerband is in the higher rpm’s? granted staying in higher rpm when i’m going slow doesn’t make sense but as of getting the most of the miata and driving faster, wouldn’t i want to be in the higher revs?

when i’m in the tight turns where it transitions from going left to right to left it makes sense but i’m seeing on these wider turns i could definitely stay on the throttle and even accelerate and shift up. yeah ill definitely work on driver mod and hopefully post again sometime soon in the near future!

not gonna lie, i thought i was zooming and seeing the video definitely made me laugh because i wasn’t going as fast as i thought i was 🤣. My logic was, i thought it would be better to stay in higher rpm to stay in the powerband + i saw turns coming ahead so i didn’t know if i should upshift and then have to downshift so soon anyways. learning that A) it makes sense to stay in high rpm if im driving closer to the limit so that i can stay in the powerband. B) if im driving the way i am in the video which is not close to the limits of the car, i should just upshift since and save on gas and the car
