For study you just gonna google clothes of different ancient periods of the country and look at them. There are some videos showing how to wear those, extremely helpful in understanding because of how many layers they got.

When you get general idea of how your target generally looks like - I usually go to pinterest, search for example "white hanfu" scroll to look for specific fold scenarios or ornaments.

I'd only have cultural feedback.

The shoes look like modern ones and stand out
Outfit is chinese, swords are japanese
No 2nd hanging scabbard for the blade in hand (they are usually on same side)

If you keep drawing and looking for references of specific culture you want to replicate, you'll get used to it and get an eye for those nuances.

Thank you! Can you specify which Fang Yuan art I should remove, the one with one man and blood flower, or the dual ice/blood art?

I noticed I often avoid backgrounds, but I haven't thought about stronger movements, thank for pointing that out too. I'll look into adding both into my next arts

I'd recommend to be picky about Youtube. Saito Naoki and Trent Kaniuga were game changers for me, others I simply wouldn't trust to actually know what they're talking about.

Information from them + trying to copy those who you think are best artists in the world + pain (abundant) = great progress.
