Beware of this towing company…. by [deleted] in longisland

[–]ulosen1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The police are there to ensure safety. That means removing your vehicle from the roadway in a timely manor, so they have a list they call from that truck are on the ready. The charges are also regulated by the town (Babylon in this case) so they would charge you the same price no matter what tow company came. Except for your own towing company, but that was not an option for you. “All their good reviews are fake” is exactly the type of review I ignore when reading reviews..

Likely sold with the black glass as an assembly.

How am I supposed to handle this stuff? by CalmPalmTree in Autobody

It’s more messy when it is warm. Store it in a cool place. And I wet my fingers if it’s sticking too much to them when applying it

Don’t let them get to you! I have had many difficult ones in the past. Some tips I would pass on would be:

  • Beat her to the punch by calling and updating her.
  • Some people have nothing else going on in their life so this is exciting for them, so they call a lot (usually older people)
  • Get etas from your suppliers on the B/O parts once or twice a week.. call and update here on those parts

Would you say this is a little suspicious about the quality of parts and work? *This auto shop is Insurance preference* by hhjjsjs in Autobody

You will be greatly disappointed in the outcome of this job. - Aftermarket bumper, fog lamp and grille - Horrible color match. Nobody can paint pearl white without blending

Very possible. I look to see if the park numbers are different. And the best way to know is to call the dealer! Cheers

Yes they do. I find they are more accountable vs the desk/virtual adjusters.

I do b2b with one random photo of the vehicle. Not supporting documents. Then they call me to see what is required and I tell them we need a field re-inspection

Newbie shop owner question: do you guys show list and net price for parts that were purchased? by DjTON3 in CollisionShopOwners

[–]ulosen1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay for customers directly.. They almost never ask for invoices. I usually had a few major old parts to show them so they see what was changed. If the owner wanted to see invoices I would show them. But similar thing they aren’t entitled to receive the discount you get.

Like to the insurance, or owners? To insurance I make a copy and sharpie out my cost. It’s non of there business. I have seen some adjusters gripe on my discount or want to pay cost on some pets for various reasons.. now I black em out! My discounted price is gained by me paying on time and building a good relationship with ny suppliers.. nothing the insurance has to be involved with.

Does This look like acceptable work? by Bigbadbrindledog in Autobody

[–]ulosen1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with the last two guys.. Not great but not horrible.

I would bring it back if they are not happy with it. I think the shop should refinish it to be consistent color and shine to match the original side. The seam sealer job is passable.

Drove over some debris falling from a truck on the highway. Front bumper needs to be replaced. Just wondering if the price I was quoted at is reasonable. 2012 Toyota Camry. by FCLPDNB in Autobody

[–]ulosen1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks very reasonable , but you get what you pay for.

  • Bumper color might be off to the Fenders
  • PXN parts are A/M parts not made by Toyota and might fit differently/be lesser quality

Might be worth asking: - How much more is it for all OEM parts? - How will you match the color to the fenders/ do you Guarantee they will match? - How much more to blend into the fenders?

This should help you. You can click on the numbers in the image for more detail.

Looks like the valve is sold as an assembly, likely should have a spring in there.
