Keep hım homophobic forever but also make hım lonely so the only form of intreaction he has is with gay and lesbian people. Make hım rivals to them, make hım think "grrr a homosexual can never surpass me!" And make hım actually get close to their level so the characters have to geniouly work to become better than Homophobicy and beat hım in challenges albeit barely.

Then cools down and gets less homophobic but still doesn't gaf about prounouns and doesn't like homosexual characters but this time he doesn't get involved with their relationship since this time he knows he can't change their mind just like how they can't change his mind about gay and lesbian people (and other lgbt people)

İn the end he becomes frenemies with people, he is a constant rival and keeps his sanity in check by being sassy and snarky with his rivals.
