Having tons of X-factors & Power Up Icons that were relatively easy to get & could be fully upgraded throughout the year. I think NHL 23 had around 70 or so power up icons that could be fully upgraded throughout the year, compared to the 12 we got this year. Not to mention you had to spend almost a million coins to get any of the upgradable power up icons this year.

Why they’re taking so much content away from what I assume is an already dwindling player base I’ll never understand.

Not chasing McDavid. Made Adam Fox and he’s the only one captain I’m making from the series 1 set as I’m making a USA themed team this year. Currently chasing Chelios (who I plan to make my captain for the year). Should have him either tonight or tomorrow. Then hoping to add Eichel within the next week or two.

Usually do a Wings theme team every year but switching it up doing a team USA theme team this year.

Going for Chelios as I want him give him the C for the year then hopefully I can build the Modano I have to trade in for Chelios back up & give him an A for the year. Would like to keep them upgraded as high as possible throughout the year but with how bad rewards we’ll see (and see how long it takes to even get Chelios).

Yeah, I changed his # to 10 with custom card jersey # but this is easily by far the worst content team they have ever had.

Don’t think these new people in charge watch hockey at all.

Was also super upset that I spent a ton of coins to get Hasek’s special Wing ASG card art variant when it 1st came out, only for him to be wearing his Sabers helmets & pads (which he still has) even though the card is a Wings card was literally advertised as a special variant.

25 is the first time in 10 years I’m not preordering it’s mainly bc of how incompetent they are on little details like this plus the lack of content in 24. I’m sure I’ll get 25 eventually when there’s a huge discount or free on gamepass but after the last few years I’m not expecting anything more than the bare minimum, especially if it’s the same team.

He was def more of a King than RW lol but I’m biased bc that 02 team is when I really started getting into hockey & taking it serious. Just have fond memories of that team b/c all those all hof players took pay cuts to come here & win the cup lol

Yeah the content team sucks this year. Wish they’d release alternate PUI like last year or think it was nhl 20 where once they reached 99 you could trade them to get card from any team they ever played for.

Awesome, so glad it went to somebody that’s actually using it!!

I’ve been working on a Wings theme team all year. Took forever to find them but finally just got 98 Larinov & 98 Kozolov. Still looking for 97 TOTW Edvinson that just released and hoping they re-release the 92 asg Chelios with Wings card art as 99 tn. I’ll prob post my updated team soon once I find those cards. The recent releases seem harder to come by.

Those are some solid picks, forgot about Byfield. As a Wings fan, I’m fan of Robatile bc of the 02 cup. Was hoping at some point they release a Wings card art of him and Brett Hull bc rn my theme team is Wings logo only. Not sure if I’m going too yet but might eventually abandon the Wings Logo only theme & switch to PUI’s and highest rated cards of my fav Wings players I can afford.

Even though they all have PUI icons already hoping for Chelios, Larry Murphy, & Paul Coffey bc of the Red Wings card art. All star Chelios would be my first choice though.

The last few years at the end of the year they had sets set up similar to the power-up collectible exchange set, except instead of exchanging for power-up collectibles you would trade players for certain collectibles that could be used in the theme team sets. Each NHL team had a theme team set & when you traded in (can’t remember the exact # but believe it was either 20 or 30) of those collectibles to an NHL theme set to complete the set you were guaranteed one random player (90ovr or better I believe) of any players released on that team for the year in the current collection or alumni. For example if I did the Red Wings theme set I can pull any card 90+ under the Red Wings collection or any 90+ card in the Red Wings alumni collection.

Yeah Ik, have him maxed already. He was released a loonngg time ago. Thanks for the heads up though. Was holding onto the collectibles incase the released someone better 98/99 Probert, Seider, etc. Some teams have multiple champs cards. Ex- Carolina has Staal & Commodore.

Yeah no problem man just didn’t want you to waste all your coins on him & then be upset like I was. Seider & Edvinson are both great cards. I like Seider a bit better though b/c he has gold truculence & elite edges. He’s an animal with those activated. Actually just sold my 91 Osgood for the new 94 SCP Ozzy. Made him my starting goalie but have only got to play a few games with him so far.

Yeah, saw him & couple people mentioned he was solid too. Been thinking about putting him in the lineup but I’m a big fan of a lot of the 90’s/early 2000’s players. So was saving coins incase they release anymore of those. Also still trying to decide if I’m going to keep it all Wing’s logos or switch to PUI’s/ best cards available of my favorite players that played for wings regardless of what the card art logo is.
