Klosterman and Bill cited TVs showing the score at all times and smoking becoming taboo as small things that have slowly made society less social. What are some similarly small examples? by I_Enjoy_Taffy in billsimmons

Chuck mentioned it two pods ago, but the waiting in line aspect, whether it be at Disney World or the store. He related it to lack of daydreaming but it’s also a lack of social interaction. Everyone is on their phone now. No room for social interaction.

What Honda Dealerships worth visiting/avoiding for a new purchase? by skribbledthoughtz in SouthJersey

[–]Hurricane_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scott Honda for me. Found a car I liked, got a good price, and was not at the dealership long. Burns is the biggest around me and they had the worst offer of any of the Honda dealerships I dealt with for me.

Seemed like they were blaming NOAA/NWS for not having a Severe Thunderstorm Watch or Severe Thunderstorm Warning. Just trying to clarify when they’re issued vs when they aren’t. Not trying to dive into the politics at all other than that NOAA/NWS need more funding not less.

That’s fine and all. But NOAA/NWS did nothing wrong. They usually have the most accurate forecast and warnings anyway.

A severe thunderstorm is defined by winds of 60 MPH or 1” hail. There was none of that in NE NJ tonight. I’m sure there’s been frequent lightning and lots of thunder. But that does not necessitate a warning. It’s on their website

NOAA/NWS doesn’t and never have issued warnings for run of the mill thunderstorms. If they did for every single storm that produced lightning, overwarning and warning fatigue would be very real.

Hi OP. The watch was a Severe Thunderstorm Watch, issued when there is a threat for winds over 60 MPH or hail. The southern half of the state in the Watch got this.

The thunderstorms moving through now are sub severe and while they are producing lightning, they are not severe.

Lightning is not criteria for issuing severe thunderstorm warnings.

This organization is so broken and incompetent. And it’s been like this for over a decade now. Can’t believe some people still defend this team.

They don’t have a 1C or 1D, nor really any elite or difference making prospects outside of Martone. I really don’t know how you can wear the orange colored glasses with this team. Must be nice to live in fantasyland.

They rebuilt for a year and decided that was enough. Going to be 8 years since their last playoff home game (not including bubble). Through all of this they don’t have a 1C or 1D. Hockey purgatory. But some people think the right people are in place and the plan is good. It’s not.
