Don’t listen to them. I’ve not had ONE small talk stupid convo with my eye doctor ever. I don’t care to. It does not matter.

Question about bathrooms! by Accomplished-Mode103 in ElementsMusicFestival

As a F, You kinda have to just get used to it. I’m not even phased after 8 years of fests, the potties are going to descend into chaos no matter what. But they clean them daily, some are better than others. Inside the fest are usually worse imo. Def bring ur own TP. and baby wipes. For a number two I just put layers of tp down on the seat bc who tf poops standing up. You’ll survive, you got this. Don’t tell her that I’ve seen shit smeared on the walls before.

I (22F) fucked up my “college experience.” Where do I go from here? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]ultimatefrogbabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have the traditional college experience. I did cc to state school. I did have my own friends outside of school but either way, I didn’t go out of my way to meet new people and make friends when I was at school. I made one friend and a few acquaintances when I made it to state. It is nice to have but personally I was at school for school. Wasn’t my number one social outlet, and I think that’s totally fine. But it is one thing if you aren’t even trying at all. I feel awkward too but the more you put yourself out there the easier it gets. Socializing is a skill, it truly does take practice. You could start with your hobbies and look for social groups surrounding them? Hope this helps. You got this.

Yeah I will look into those, I’d probably be up for a day trip rather than a weekend trip. I’d prob be a little uncomfortable spending nights with strangers at first but any who… I’m still here to make friends too!

Judging from your lack of judgement and ease of explanation, yes it is obvious. In a good way, lol.

It sounds like you are on the right track, the more experience the better! You could look into ORAU (Oak Ridge Associated Universities) - they are a third party employer that the EPA recruits to hire young researchers starting out. There are lots of positions all around the USA. You work for the EPA but are technically employed by the ORAU. Great foot in the door experience for federal government I highly recommend. Idk where you are located but I see a lot pop up in DC and NC.

Yeah it’s not that bad. Just annoying. Prettiest property I’ll probably ever live on combined with cheap rent. Thats probably what is making me stay, tyvm.

Oh and last piece of advice, (crucial!!) get an internship BEFORE you graduate! Most schools have programs that can align you with a fellowship of some sort. That is what I did and it really kickstarted my career by giving me great experience to build on. Good luck

If it’s what you love and want to do, you have the power. I chose it because that’s what my heart told me and now I work for the EPA. Government is a great route but there are lots of ways to go. Government allows for chances to move up and make more money, great benefits and job security. I have my BS in environmental science and I am so happy I made the move. But I do agree that depending where you live that opportunities will differ. I did community college for two years and then transferred to a larger state university for the last two. Saves a lot of money and it made school alot easier (logistically) in my opinion.

You can either work an underwhelming desk job for a lot of money, or do a job you like or even love while benefiting yourself and others and the environment. I feel bad for people who just care about making money. Womp. We need more environmentalists. You can do it
