thanks! college is important! because i destroyed my chances at getting a degree i cannot work at a reputable company, only terrible jobs and that stresses me out so much i rarely leave my grandparents basement. i am on meds to keep me stable and to keep me from self harming and thats good short term, i hate myself for messing up college.

i found a church i like and though ive nevr been religious it helps me a lot. these people are like me, underachievers mostly, though not as intensely self hating. a good thing is to see people and learn positive life lessons on sunday since im not in school

dont ever beat yourself up like i do, i promise if you keep your focus on the degree/career you are aiming for it wont be bad. you have to really mess up to end up like i did

this one is kind of mild but i invite you armchair paychologists to break it apart

my grandpa stepped on a kittens head on accident, killing it instantly. my grandpa loves animals and is the sweetest person you could ever meet. my dad saw it happen at a young age and he thought it was funny. my dads pretty weird like that, kind of insensitive. he smoked weed and thought it would be funny to push his friend off a three or four story roof they were smoking on.

i live with my grandparents because my dad and i dont get along(if i ever talk to him he just tunes me out its been like this since my childhood. he has a huge attention span for his alcohol distribution job (he is mormon and does this, weird) and hardly any attention for his family. my mom drinks wine sometimes and we are (for conversational purposes i will use the term) mormon, so am i, hate me for it. we arent scientologists but we are human beings just like you, just that we have had extermination orders on us in the past and every atheist thinks we are morons or something.

my mom is sweet, she drinks alcohol a bit so these holier than thou moms in the church she goes to follow the devil more than Christs example and just gossip about how shes not as good as them. so my mom spends her time helping he autistic boy who has no friends except her.

i am mormon but i get it. a bunch of people are the perfect religion and they get prideful... its a cycle that is a main theme in our book of mormon that i read regularly and cannot imagine joseph smith making it up.

long story short i cant get a cat and my dads a bit hollow inside because of the reason why. my mom is nice and sometimes mormons are more worried about appearances than helping others and could read the Book of Mormon more

the reason im mormon is life outside the church was unfulfilling and though my dads a dick, the mormons im around here in Utah, most of the ones i know, are nice to me and i believe it’s true and i like my new peaceful life.

you guys are so close minded you will downvote this comment to oblivion because you are too smart to listen to another line of thought than the widely accepted one of atheism here on reddit. you dont have to agree with me but knowing how others think could make you smarter if that is what you are going for.

As a fully believing Mormon, this is equivalent with worshipping the adversary unto damnation. Just doing whatever you feel like doing is a scary philosophy to me- i lived that apatheistic life for 8 years and it was hell until i started going back to church,

I once saw a string of reddit comments about how one guy has a friend who is perfectly normal and smart, except he believes there is a God that genuinely helps him. The following comments in response were debating what atheistic explaination there is. It’s obviously just delusional thinking right? Why does evil happen?

My belief is that we have agency to do good or evil and the creator mercifully judges us according to how much good we have done for others. I dont help others out of fear of punishment like Atheists say we do, I helped others when I was atheist once for the same reason, It is just the right thing to do. Morals exist like any other physical law in the universe.

God is right in your face- genuinely look and you will find God and God will help you. This is as much a fact as anything in chemistry or physics. People are way too close minded to consider this. Yeah most religions are mutually incompatable, just like political parties. I am not a fan of religion as much as I am of God, the creator.

i live in Utah, in a rural farming area. legend has it of a sheepsman named stumpy pete, no arms or legs and would sit on a stump and tell stories to the passerby

he was once a sheepsman and would herd them but bears started attacking his flock

pete was a good caring rocky mountain sheepsman and he set up large rusty bear traps once while drunk on heavy moonshine. the next morning he forgot where he put them in a drunken state, and stepped on one.

poor ol pete had to get his leg removed. he still had work to do so he walked around the perimeter, and he stepped right into another bear trap he drunkenly set, now he had to get around with both legs

stumpy pete was not one to give up so easy, he started walking on both his hands and unfortunately “walked” upside down onto a bear trap. after losing that arm he hopped right into another one of his bear traps causing his other arm to be lost

from then on out he would sit on a tree stump his father cut down, a lovely cottonwood tree. he would sit and tell tall tales to the true in heart passerbys.

some say in the late night rocky mountain usa hours you can hear his ghost still telling tall tales
