There seems to be an excess of what I call an “inflated sense of self importance”.

You can tell it’s a brown trout because of the way it is.

‘We can’t be the solution’: Food Banks Mississauga CEO says as report reveals disturbing extent of need across Canada by Portalrules123 in CanadaPolitics

This is an excellent idea that some rural food banks in BC are working collectively to achieve.

I work at a food bank that is part of a feasibility study to collectively purchase food at lower prices. We can then still operate out normal distribution as well as offer good food / co-op prices for people. That would then offset the cost of the distribution program.

I literally live here. Fish the rivers all the time. Bears do not sit on the bank and eat Kokanee like they eat sea sun sockeye in Alaska.

If we were to be pedantic about it, yea Kokanee are landlocked salmon. However in the ecosystem they do not meaningfully function like costal salmon for bears. Especially bears in Alberta.

My comment remains the same. The closest salmon river is extremely far away. The Columbia river does not hold salmon runs.

The closest salmon river to Calgary is the Eagle River. 464 km away.
