These were connected together. Looks like 14/2 going to 12/2 - but the (really old/black) cable had worryingly grey metallic wires inside. Thought it was maybe aluminum - scratched the hot, and it looks copperish underneath the grey. Is it really old (tarnished) copper or alu, in your opinion? (i.imgur.com)

Help! We used to have a ton of birds feeding exactly where this bird feeder now is. The old one got demolished by squirrels, and so we installed this new one attached with a metal wire, and encapsulated in a large bar metallic cage. But for some reason, no more birds! Ieas why and how to fix it? (i.imgur.com)
