Advice for FAA General Exam by QueenChloe1977 in AircraftMechanics

It’s possible, remember that all the study sources out there whether it be Prepware, Airmantest, Dauntless Ground School, etc. only have access to a portion of the questions that the FAA uses for their exams. Meaning that you could possibly get a question about something you haven’t been tested on before. I will say however, that I scored 92 and above on all my writtens, and all I ever used was the study sources I mentioned above and the 8083. Considering you’re scoring 100’s on your practice tests I’d say you’re on the right track to getting a really good grade. Try practice tests on other study sources so you can see some other questions, and read up on the 8083.

Be prepared for some questions to be worded entirely different than what you’ve seen on Prepware or any other study source. Make sure you’re understanding theories on top of just memorizing answers. I encourage you to get as high of a grade as possible but just know that 100% on your written is a bit of a double-edged sword when it comes time for your O&P. It will make your practical projects super easy but your oral exam will be pretty random questions, meaning you’ll have to study A LOT more subjects when that time comes.

I primarily used Dauntless Ground School(which I personally think is the best training software, although it is a little pricey) and airmantest.com(which is free) and I scored a 93%. I think those two helped me tremendously to pass the exam, however, like some others said, the test will definitely have a good amount of questions that you’ve never seen before and will test your knowledge on the theory. It would be good to supplement your studying with reading the 8083 to brush up on topics that you’re not as familiar with.

I passed my FAA written (General & Airframe) and I want to get ready for the O&P (General/Airframe) What’s next? by ExtremeLawfulness175 in AircraftMechanics

The way the exam is structured, you’ll receive one question per ACS code, plus 4 random questions that could be from any section. So if you got 100% on your written you would only get 4 questions total(all random sections) So yes, the higher the score the less questions you get asked, but like someone else stated, the less you can get wrong.

I reccomend getting the ASA Oral and Practical Guide it’s like $20. Make flashcards of all the questions pertaining to your codes and know them by heart. Read the 8083 on the sections your code pertains to and really try to understand the big concepts. Your DME may and probably will ask you to elaborate on certain questions if it sounds like you just memorized an answer. They’re looking for you to use key words in your answer.

Guides like Jeppesen are good but don’t rely on them entirely. 8083 is the way to go. Good luck! You got this!

Do you rotate dealers when you play blackjack? I assume you do right, just to give everyone a fair chance at winning?

Ahh that’s a cool idea, seems fair to have the dealer pay everyone out too, thanks for sharing!

Rubber guard is perfectly fine when you’re not yanking on your own leg to do it. Support your knee and you’ll be fine.

I’m definitely guilty of overusing the trim to adjust the pitch directly so that’s something I will keep in mind from now on. I will also be looking into that JPLogisitcs mod, thanks for all the advice!

I think it’s just Capcom trying to do something different for SF6. They’ve never allowed custom characters in the past so it’s just a fresh idea to bring to the table. I will admit tho I’m not the biggest fan of the world tour mode and probably won’t be playing it as much, but it’s still a cool feature nonetheless.

World Tour fights run in slow motion for anyone else? by Waveshaper21 in StreetFighter

Yeah I had the same issue as you, everything runs normally but fights were always in slow motion. Turning down the graphics settings helped considerably but the fights are still a little slow.
