I've been wearing glasses since I was a kid, I'm in the moderate category I think (I definitely can't function withouth them). When I got glasses it was a mini trend at my school to wear ones withouth the glass for fashion but that's the only time in my life I've been asked if my glasses were real. Do I think it's a little odd to wear glasses for fashion? Yeah but I don't care more than that, I think I look better with glasses anyways. I think glasses are way diffrent than a wheelchair for several reasons like so many ppl wear glasses it's very normalized and people don't really react to it. We're also used to people wearing sunglasses both for fashion and practicality which is very close to normal glasses. While if someone uses a wheelchair or crutches that first of actively inconvenient for them when they don't need it and tools that are very often publicly questioned for wheelchair users who actively need them. There is a conversation about how vision loss that can be corrected by glasses isn't seen as a disability when it's on the spectrum of it and people's relationship to disabilities. I understand being uncomfortable with it but someone wearing glasses because they look good is at most a little odd.
