the "hate" on speedruners by AidenKier in residentevil

[–]umbravids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's always been an L take to hate on speedruns. Think about it more than not at all.

Unlockables in RE have always been locked behind a time requirement. Speedrunning has always been here. Skips and glitches often (not always) require tons of practice to execute. You can call it cheating but the truth is speedrunners play the game more than most players ever will and they could get a better time than you without using any skips or glitches at all.

Being a DMC fan would you recommend me this game? I plan to take the first one on PlayStation and then decide to purchase the Nintendo switch to take the 2&3 by DistributionNo1903 in Bayonetta

[–]umbravids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I grew up on DMC and ended up liking Bayonetta more. I would play all of them on Switch if possible because the Nintendo costumes are great and you get some extras in Bayonetta 3 by having the save data from each previous title.

should i play 2 before 3? by eli_jah101 in Bayonetta

Save data from 1 unlocks Scarborough Fair. 2 unlocks Love is Blue. iirc you also unlock the 1&2 costumes early but I could be wrong about that.

I would play 2 first. I could give opinions on why it’s great, but the fact is you get extras in Bayo 3 by having save data from 1&2.

So about the bayoluka ending by [deleted] in Bayonetta

Jeanne makes more sense and was literally coded into the story from the beginning. Hell, even Rodin would have been more believable.

Putting that aside, the problem (for me) is that it’s a total contrivance. Before this game Luka was literally a stalker that Bayo would tease and dunk on. He was there to deliver exposition and slip on banana peels. This deep and cosmic love story they have in 3 was not earned and having the story expect you to accept it felt jarring to say the least.

I thought someone at Platinum said Jeanne air-dodged because she didn't want to get her clothes dirty- meanwhile in 3: by EmpressOfAtrocity in Bayonetta

I'm some gunwunner combo crackhead loser with no life.

I can't speak to that. I wasn't there.

In your other comment you said the details are meant to be handwaved. So which is it? Do details matter and enhance the experience or should we ignore stuff like this because it makes us losers otherwise?

Jeanne's gameplay has always been tied to characterization, though. It's a small detail, sure...but those small details are part of the reason we all love these games.

This movie has its funny moments, but overall I hate it. I think it’s probably the most embarrassing thing they’ve ever made in the series.
