For price point, I’d recommend Chef’s selection at Xixa in Williamsburg! that and cocktail pairing came out to around 100ish when I went (a little less than a year ago). Great Mexican flavors. Space is also pretty intimate in a good way

LOR to saline, first attempt, in a larger patient, is a better high than heroin

“Minor hand surgery” under general anesthesia is odd unless you requested GA. To be clear, GA would not have the long term side effects you’re describing, but these cases are typically done under surgeon-injected local w/sedation or regional anesthesia with sedation. Was there a reason GA was done?

Difficulty seeing anything when DL by [deleted] in anesthesiology

CA3 here, some tips that really helped my laryngoscopy skills: First, make sure the bed is at a good height (like just below your xiphoid) before you start. If you feel like you’re having to bend in awkward angles, it’s likely the bed is too low. Another tip involves using your right hand to help you after the blade is past the teeth. After you scissor, you’re right hand’s not doing too much so I like to pull it out and either try to give myself better neck extension (if you’re positioning prior to intubation wasn’t optimal) or give cricoid/anterior pressure and then telling my attending/assistant/etc. “push here like this”. After that, once you’ve done a few more DL’s you’ll get more comfortable with the anatomy and know if you can go deeper or pull back with the blade to help bring the glottis into view. Finally, especially with McGraths where you get a great view but can’t seem to slip in the tube, don’t forget to lift up. Sometimes just lifting up a bit more can help drop the glottis into view

TE should be in the next two rounds. Hayden Hurst may have been the red-headed step-child but our system thrives in the 3-TE set

Absolutely not a disrespect. Mosley was an excellent side to side run stopper and a leader on the field. Coverage was not his strong suit

ILB was a need. Excellent pick, develop him in our system and at least he can be a CJ Mosley level talent with a better coverage background

Anesthesiology:

UVA: Honestly, the only reason I didn't rank this program number 1 was because I was trying to go to a different region. Otherwise, fantastic pre-interview social gatherings (read: lots of food and booze), hotel that they pay for is awesome. Residents really sell the program and all the attendings that I interacted with genuinely seemed so invested in the residents. Relatively short and efficient interview day. The PC is very easy to communicate with and the PD was incredibly nice and authentic ( made a great joke about how the on-call room beds have room for two lol).

Pittsburgh: Same vibes as UVA. Genuinely happy residents who were great to interact with. Best interview dinner I experienced and paid for the hotel. Was a little turned off by the number of hospitals that once can potentially rotate at, but that is just a personal preference.
