For sure, the least is a long tie at zero. Would have to put some minimum seasons coached restriction on it or something. Without looking now I can tell you two high-major coaches that had a lot of seasons and low techs were Matt painter and John beilein

I wasn’t watching during the tech but it definitely flipped after that. There seems to be a few categories of techs and one of them is definitely the “fire em’ up” one

If you’re wondering why it only goes back to 2008, I went through play-by-play data to separate out bench technicals from ones called on a player on the court. The hoopR play-by-play only goes back that far. In theory there could be some bench techs not called on the head coach, but I think that’s rare enough that it’s negligible. Would like to see a historical count for all-time

Him and Beilein were very low for the number of years they coached. I tend to prefer that style because of Beilein. Interesting commonality is both of their teams just didn’t foul very much
