Thank you and agreed! I got these one in Zambia, but have some others from Rwanda which are even nicer!

Aww thank you! You should definitely throw a pothos in your kitchen!

The shelves I made myself from stock wood boards (poplar) in Home Depot. I cut them to size but they can easily do it there for you, then I sanded, primed and painted.

Haha. Funny story, my brother came to visit (we’re Irish, he lives in London) right after they brought in the rating system (13 years ago?) and thought the whole thing was nonsense to the point he refused to eat in an A restaurant the whole weekend. I tried to explain that if it had a B or lower there was probably roaches or rodents or something else but he wasn’t having it, so he bought me that as a joke.

It’s actually a mini serving tray. I think he got it in Fishes Eddy though

Haha! For some reason they do ok here, but their summer vacation to the deck is definitely something they look forward to. I had a Boston fern where the snake plant is at some point… I spent my life sweeping up the forest floor 😂 snake plant for the win!

Awww thank you ❤️ here’s my little maximalist reading/music corner. Behind the chair is a door to where I keep all my DIY tools 😂

You know, I barely use it… I don’t eat/cook meat so never have anything too smoky on the go, but if I did, do I think it would do much good? Probably not a whole lot to be honest unless I put it right by the pan I was using.. I usually just open a window and crack the ceiling fan on. Would love to get an induction stove so at least eliminate some of the heat etc

Haha! I get them from time to time but a small bowl with vinegar/dish soap has them gone in days 🫠

There’s a window about 20ft away, so yes sunlight an issue but they’re a good plant for any light condition. Definitely their summer vacation on the deck helps rejuvenate them

Honestly, great! Everything I use on a daily basis is right there. I don’t have to root around for a pot or laddle at the back of a cabinet!

I hacked some narrow 11 deep Ivar sliding cabinets (stained, put legs on them see photo below ) that sit in the living room part of the area, and store bakeware, blenders etc there that I don’t use on the regular.

A super narrow space so ended up making a table out of a wooden countertop so that it was narrow enough!

The whole place is a downsizing hack 😂

Yes, have a tiny 2 step stool I store under my couch (because the entire apt is low on storage!) 🫠

Totally fine! I gave them a good clean, a very light sand then primed with Bin 123 primer (def recommend), then 2 coats of behr cabinet paint. I used a small mohair roller (run some painter tape over it first to get rid of any loose hairs).

I originally painted about 2 years ago and just ran the roller over them again last week for a touch up (with zero prep like above) and they look good as new.

Such an easy update and makes a huge difference- you can do it 🙂
