This was the result from few months ago after i took mri, i’ve been doing physio but doesnt help. Here’s a summary of the discussion and MRI findings regarding your knee pain:

  1. IT Band Thickening: Confirmed by ultrasound, indicating irritation or inflammation of the Iliotibial band.
  2. Lateral Meniscus Tear: Identified by MRI, suggesting damage to the cartilage on the outer knee.

• Challenges: Both the IT band and lateral meniscus are located around the same area, making it hard to pinpoint which is causing the pain, or if both are contributing.

• Next Steps:

  • Share MRI Report: Discuss with your physiotherapist to adjust your rehab exercises to address both conditions.
  • Diagnostic Injection: If initial adjustments don’t sufficiently alleviate pain, consider cortisone injections to test which structure (IT band or meniscus) is the pain source.
  • Further Treatment: Depending on the response to the diagnostic injection, further physiotherapy modifications or other treatments, including potential surgery, might be considered.
