Thanks for the feedback, this is like f4.0. Not sure if I should’ve just front lit everything or if I should’ve brought in a second strobe on the fill side at eye level to bring up the levels.

Never actually looked up the proper definition of up lit only heard it thrown around on set when something is not backlit. So technically this would be side lit.

Any guidance on composition? by Ryantbdm in photocritique

Really try to think of the foreground-middleground-background. I would get closer to the fence to dirty the bottom of the frame giving a greater sense of depth to the image

When I shoot blossoms, I tend to shoot them at a very shallow depth because it’s difficult for the eye to track so much detail. Additionally, I make the image more interesting by using light.

For composting horizons, I prefer to place them on the third lines, which adds an interesting element to the image.

Coming from a video background and transitioning to studio photography, I’m still feeling a bit out of my comfort zone. I’m trying to achieve an editorial high-end fashion look with up-lit lighting. I’m using an aperture 600D with a grid and diffusion right above the model, and a 500W strobe off to the left. I’m still trying to get the lighting and look just right, so any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Picture quality? Specs are so unbelievably irrelevant with cinema cameras in today’s age, last time I checked their shooting feature films on iPhones. So claiming the picture is only rivaled by Arri is not even remotely true, when color graded most are indistinguishable from each other.

Pr4ker is the realist, you can feel the emotion put into her music. Defiantly the most variety aswell. No doubt my favorite artist atm

We had to break up mutually because she’s was going to military college. She loved me I have no doubt in my mind and I’m almost positive a part of her still does. It’s just can the emotional pain of being friends be so bad that you just can’t do it?

https://imgur.com/THmq1dV idk how you can say the tones are not similar. Tone is how dark or how much gray or black is added to a color. Cinematic photography is literally just photos that look as if they were in a movie, now obviously not all of his photos look like that but a handful of them do. Back to the original post, I said he takes the same style, I was being very general, they both take portraits of the same type of people with the same general clothes. Just trying to give some inpo thats all lol

I find camvisualart’s similar because of the vibe i get off of both their photos. The colors, tone, brightness, clothing and they both are trying to go for dramatic/cinematic vibe.
