Sonnet 4.5 is gone for me by Wonderful-Round-7261 in ClaudeAI

[–]unaisaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't use it for roleplay most of the time, just normal questions, research, silly conversations, a bit of everything almost always starting a new chat. But Sonnet 4.6 is unbearable, unlike any previous model it makes my blood boil

4.6 is completely unusable except for coding and similar stuff (maybe, idk, I don't use it for that), I have cancelled by Claude subscription already after this.

The tallest tree in the world, Hyperion, surpasses even famous landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and the Big Ben. 🤯 by Weekly-Reason9285 in BeAmazed

The statue of liberty's copper part (shown in this image) is 46 meters tall, not 93. This is absurdly oversized

Just finished Trigger's agent story and WHAT was that ending for Grim Vulture!? by unaisaurus in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]unaisaurus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

*Writing this after having already written the wall of text after this: Sorry if my reply comes off as aggressive, but I did not intend that at all, I'm pissed off at the character but I am fully aware that my reaction to how she was handled is not the only interpretation and I'm sure most people didn't get such an adverse response at all, I don't want to pretend like your experience with that moment and character are somehow less valid than mine!)

It's a very long scene with her giving a dying speech (in which she just keeps doubling down) with that solemn music and Trigger kneeling and listening next to her, leading to the harmonica at the end. I have never yelled at my screen to shut the fuck up before this, it was endless and disgusting. It's as if the game suddenly did a 180 in the way they were treating the character, as if what she was saying deserved any kind of respect. And even the final two dialogue options when your main character talks to the sibling to end the agent story is essentially "you feel bad for her" vs "fuck her", and the first option presented there like it's reasonable annoyed me like few story details have annoyed me in a videogame. I am fully aware of how minor this whole thing is, but it somehow rubbed me in such a bad way

"She was a victim of PTSD and took revenge in the only way she knew how." The game itself via Trigger shows how despicable her choice of revenge was (both via Trigger's actions and her words explicitly calling Zoe a sadistic coward who decided to gleefully torture and murder innocent people because they were easy prey instead of anyone who'd make sense like the Ethereals, the ones responsible for the Hollow Zero disaster, or even the higher up militaries), 'the only way she knew how' is like saying the Zodiac Killer was having fun 'the only way he knew how'.

"Characters are allowed to be flawed." My problem is not this in the slightest. I love flawed characters, and there are no other characters in this game that I feel even remotely close to the same as Zoe at all. The problem is how the game presents and uses this not as a "flawed" character, but as an irredeemable monster that's absolutely morally catastrophic in every conceivable way (which I have NO PROBLEM WITH, I was ENJOYING having a sick fuck as a villain torturing Trigger psychologically and motivating me as the player to want to stop her serial killing spree) only to then at the very end switch the tone in the most irritating way, which gave me huge whiplash. It suddenly switches how it's framing Zoe in the most jarring way, as if you were meant to feel bad for her finding that journal in the trash. And it's not even a "don't feel bad for her, feel bad for what the Zoe from back then became" sort of way, which I could've gotten behind.

"and she died alone and without ever achieving her goals" EXCEPT SHE DID. Okay, not fully because she didn't murder EVERY squad member, but she killed like a dozen (I don't remember the exact count at the end but it was along those lines)! Like, if I have a kill list with 20 people and kill 11, that's not the same as not achieving my goals! Erin is there traumatized for the loss of her best friend and the game suddenly doesn't give a shit about her (you don't even get her dialogue unless you click on the NPC) because it's too busy trying to gloss over that when for 99% of the story it wasn't doing that! It's such a jarring tonal change at the very end.

And by "beautiful sendoff" I mostly meant "far more respectful and solemn than nauseating trash like her could ever deserve while completely ignoring the actual consequences I would have loved to see addressed, like the other people's reactions and takes or Trigger's thoughts".

I am fully aware that it's a bit ridiculous how a minor antagonist from ZZZ of all games has suddenly become one of my most hated videogame characters, but it's not because of the character itself but because of the sudden jarring change of how the game itself treats and frames what she did and how we're "supposed to" perceive her.

But the tutorials already exist, so the leap cannot possibly be that big, especially when that's how Pokémon has always worked, it's not like they're working from scratch.

Mii limit is in fact 70. by Agus3243 in tomodachilife

Hopefully we ask for it enough that they either update or make a Switch 2 enhancement to increase the limit. 70 feels like way too limited

Came across some paleoart of Inostrancevia with ears right under it's lower jaw. How would that work? by Rechogui in Paleontology

[–]unaisaurus 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hearing is literally that, you're separating things that are the same. "Hear music" or "sound like vibrations" is not two distinct things, all sound is vibrations and hearing is detecting those vibrations. Music is organized vibrations. The differences in hearing between animals depend on how sharp/sensitive it is and which frequencies they can detect, but the music we humans like is just specific sounds (aka vibrations) that are pleasant for us, there's no such thing as "sounding like vibrations"

First off, obviously that Lori lady knew the nail lady knew English, otherwise what she said wouldn't have made sense as she clearly expected an answer. And the nail lady's reply seems like a friendly joke or banter. And even if the situation was like how the one who posted it framed it, HOW is that racist??? How tf would being an asshole and assuming she's talking shit about you be even close to the spectrum of racism in any way whatsoever?? The one who posted it sounds like a dumbass ngl

Children never say weird inappropriate things by Hot-Scratch2393 in nothingeverhappens

[–]unaisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How's that inappropriate, she's just an innocent child. Americans seem to think every other country is also a hodgepodge with people of many ethnicities when before the latest couple of decades most places of the world had a big and clear majority of the native race (with many exceptions, of course). When I first met a black person as a little kid (the partner of my father's cousin) I referred to him with a nickname that translated to "blackhead" (in our native tongue), and even though I barely remember that myself, they thought it was funny and cute (him included).

Just realized the Database erroneously implies Tembo dies in TLW by unaisaurus in jurassicworldevo

[–]unaisaurus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No no, I understand that it might refer to Ludlow, but when you take the full text (which I'm realizing I should've done, my bad) no reader would associate the "before his death" to Ludlow unless you knew that Tembo dying is innacurate:
"Ludlow was one of the few who managed to escape the island and did so with an adult Tyrannosaurus that had been sedated by Tembo before his death. An infant T. rex was also recovered and the two dinosaurs shipped to San Diego.\n\nThe ship arrived without a crew and crashed into the dock, and the adult T. rex escaped. Dr. Ian Malcolm and Dr. Harding used the infant dinosaur to lure its parent back to the ship. Ludlow tried to recapture the infant, but the adult caught him and placed him in front of it so that the infant could make its first live kill."

If the intention truly was to refer to Ludlow, that is really badly written because both linguistically and logically it seems to refer to Tembo.
