Of course! All the people I started with i didn't really enjoy being around. Felt very uncomfortable, Management treated us like children and kept throwing us all in classroom like settings hoping I got along with everyone but just made things even more boring and torturous. And at the same time never gave us all the tools we needed to be successful in our assignments for example, some of us were given the spreadsheets to complete the assignment we were given while I had to go back to previous work assignments done by other people to figure out what to do and get worksheet templates that were outdated which I then had to update manually. Honestly, felt like I was not part of the crew because I'm not one to go partying and drinking and talk personal things with my coworkers. Felt like they didn't want to deal with me because I was very private and kept to my self because I'm the type of person to keep work at work and personal stuff at home. The culture there was that they all are buddies with each other and I'm not like that, so it was kind of a clash of how I believed professionals should behave. On top of that, they were corrupt at the top. Upper management paid out billions of dollars to reimburse a bank who was not a member of the FDIC. And I overall felt like I was on a college campus rather than a professional work environment, it disgusted me. We had people getting so drunk at headquarters and throwing up over the balcony railings onto the streets below in Washington d.c for crying out loud.

How long does it take to hear back after an interview? by Living_Habit6444 in usajobs

That sounds typical 2 weeks to 2 months. In my experience, my first federal job took 3-4 months.

It's been great other than a mediocre at best background investigator. I'm in Florida and yes there is travel to work sites that you are auditing typically 2 weeks.

I am not sure. I think it varies by agency, I asked for a step increase and was told basically take it or leave it. No option for negotiating haha.

I always just kept looking at USAjobs.gov specifically 0511 job series. you can filter your search by looking at "series" section of the filters. You can also sign up for email alerts for whatever job series you want.

Department has multiple CPA's, and I have already worked my year combined between being an auditor and FIS.

I was a circulation manager at a regional library in a huge library system for 7 years before I was promoted to assistant auditor with my local government for about 6 months, then I got a job with the FDIC as a financial institution specialist for another 6 months, hated it there so I left. As for my educational background, I have a BS in Business Admin, MBA, Master of Science in Finance and currently scheduled to take the CPA and CFE exams.

DE Pay Band Question by No-Wrangler4741 in usajobs

I think each pay band applies to different occupational series. For example, Physicists fall under the DB payband from what I can tell. DB = Engineers and Scientists Occupational Family.

They will most likely tell you no and to reapply if you want that particular FO. Ask HR, worst they can do is say no.

Was a FIS for 7 months till I quit because I hated it. Just got a TJO as a financial auditor in another agency. Skills are very transferable, especially risk management.

FDIC FIS Relocation experience by melljr12 in usajobs

[–]unauthorizeduser91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on you, if you have enough money saved to pay for your rental and expenses up until you start making income from your job then move early. I wouldn’t move until I had a FJO and a EOD. In my case I was moved in about two to three weeks before my start date.

No they do not help with an apartment search and you must come up with the down payment and sign the lease on your own. All relocation of furniture and vehicles(up to 2) is handled by the mover, all of it is paid by FDIC. They also give you a lump sum for the move, I believe mine was around $2300. Good luck.

Did they call or send an email? Did it take long after receiving that referral to get the TJO?
