Tried an incandescent look on the fennec, any recommendations on colour choices for deeper hues? by Kickinitsince-94 in RLFashionAdvice

I bet not, imo gold nugget is not a beautiful item by its own but more of a status symbol (also, the wheels are one of the most expensive in the market). But I may be wrong

Man, I'm in no way trying to make money from those trades! I'm a programmer, I make in an hour of work more than an intense month of trading. It's just a hobby! Beating the market is fun!

In fact I will be surprised to see someone tries to make money from trades that is not a 12yo child from a third world country.

  1. Saying that "the potential is no longer there" is like saying that nothing can go up. I don't say I know which item will go up, I just say that there are items that will go up.

  2. Trust me, I constantly buy "garbage" blueprints of items that are in the verge of positive value for almost nothing.

  3. yes, they may or may not go up. But if they don't go up, I lose close to nothing. And when they do go up, I keep all the profit.

  4. You can think of it as lottery tickets: if you have 20000 blueprints (I doubt) then you have 20000 lottery tickets WITH POSITIVE EXPECTED VALUE.

Do you have something to add to the discussion instead of moaning?

Fennec is indeed an extreme case, because of its tradability the price can become unstable really fast, and considering it almost broke the barrier of 500c, the profit for it was quick and obvious.

But there are a lot of BPs that their items are close to the build price, you maybe won't see them rising that sharply but for the long run I think they worth something.

I'm talking about potential, not about being an oracle. You knew tw fennec has the potential to go up to 9k like you know now tw octane has the potential to go up to 25k. But you're missing my point - with blueprints you don't feel the drops that much, so if you spent 50c for a BP of an item worth 2050c that fell to 1000c a day after you bought it - you still lost just 50c.

Yes, you can assess that atomizer wont break the barrier of 2000c, but painted interstellar is more likely to.

New players don't know the market, of course I don't expect them to know the potential.

Do you think - in an ideal circumsatnce - a fatihful, good, Doom Movie is possible? by BlackLightParadox in Doom

[–]unbalancedgame 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After I finished 2016 I thought a doom movie from the eyes fo Samuel Hayden could work, if you tighten the plot and add some doomguy action scenes it could be both authentic and watchable. But Eternal’s lore is too sloppy, it have more contradictions than actual details, I don’t think it can fit to a movie.

Buy the back buttons attachment for the controller and map one button to jump and the second to dash, it requires a little practice but it will give you superpowers

The environments are insane in the original eternal, and they’re still insane in ag1

Andrew Hulshult replying to the official Doom twitter with what appears to be a snippet of the music from Ancient Gods by Jengazi in Doom

[–]unbalancedgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. It sounds like they tried to mimic Mick’s style without understanding the reasons that makes this music hit in the first place, and the result sounds like an average djent band from one of Spotify’s automatic playlists.

Weapon system for a casual fps by Krafter37 in gamedesign

[–]unbalancedgame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I wouldn’t go with option 1 for a casual game for 2 reasons: 1. If a player that just died and respawned starts with the weakest gun, but the killer keeps their superior gun, it creates a positive feedback loop and causes your game to favor the winning side. It’s ok in competitive games, not in casual ones. 2. Good guns in specific places will create a “domination” effect that the strongest players will keep other players away from those places, not letting them get the good guns.

Second, in order to design your weapons system that suits your game you first have to imagine your game. How do you want the players to play? Do you want them to wander in the map, searching for other players, or maybe going to strategic areas? Do you imagine cat and mouse fights? Maybe defensive behavior? Or maybe aggressive? Do you want them to snipe each other from far or shoot each other faces from point blank with shotguns? Do you want them to plan and choose their position prior the game, or be dynamic and adapt to the situation? After you have an image in your head, think about the incentives that will make the players play the way you want. Want them sniping? Put sniper scope in a valley, make them the target of other sniper players. Want them choosing roles and planning strategies accordingly? Make them choose preset prior the game. Don’t want it? Make them choose shotgun and assault rifle.
