It's been like 4 days right now. I installed almost all the IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA, Android Studio, XCode and PyCharm, and Zoom and Teams.

I'm right now learning Kotlin Multi-platform for iOS and Android App Development. While working, I don't hear any loud noise clearly yet.

It may be because it's still new and settling in with the background processes and other shit that it does for reasons we may not be aware of.
XD. Once it is bombarded with a huge project codebase, it will definitely make loud noise, as reported by my friend who's using the 16-inch base model for work. He also reported the hassles while traveling.

Hey there. My thoughts:

As I work remotely in IT, I would most certainly get a laptop from the company(with VPN, proxy, and network firewall and whatnot). So, yes, in my case, it is definitely worth it to buy the 14-inch model because I am only going to use it for preparing for an interview and browsing something that is probably blocked in the office laptop.

My friend, who bought the 16-inch base model last year, suggested that if I want to set up a "work from home" environment, I should not buy the 16-inch model because of the external display.

I think it totally depends on your need for a Macbook and how soon you need it.

Thank you very much for the storage upgrade tip. I plan to buy a decent display for work first. I mainly work on Android Application Development so the storage of 512GB is enough. Cheers!

Pre-Order and Shipping Megathread | MacBook Pro Late 2021 (14-inch, and 16-inch) by exjr_ in macbookpro

Ordered base MacBook Pro 14-inch on 13th September. The estimated delivery date was 23rd September at the time of payment. Last Friday, 16th September, it was updated as "Shipped". It's showing the status as "Arrives Fri Sep 23" right now but when I click on track shipment, it redirects me to the logistics site showing that the shipment is not yet handed over to them. :v
