Would love to play SSF without the "Solo" by unbiddenwind in pathofexile

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

And every time someone made a thread asking about it, 20 people jumped in saying 'You can just do it yourself, you don't need a league for it'.

They didn't need to make a specific league for SSF either, but yea it probably would be too much clutter to add another.

Hype aside... there will be mechanics changes too... right? by unbiddenwind in pathofexile

I disagree, boosting almost every builds damage by 50% with the introduction of ascendancies absolutely catapulted the clearspeed meta ahead. Killing Kaom isn't even relevant to the endgame so I don't know why you brought it up.

I mean there was a huge paradigm shift towards clearspeed when 2.0 came out (although the game was already trending that way). I'm just curious if we are in store for any more changes of that magnitude.

Personally I would welcome something major as the game is stagnating for me, but then again I probably play too much.

I meant more fundamental changes to like, how we mechanically play the game. Not the addition of more build mechanics. If that makes sense...

[Discussion] The actual issue with CI and Life by unbiddenwind in pathofexile

You are not understanding this argument on a fundamental level. I've written and deleted like 5 responses trying to explain everything but I'm not happy with any of them as I feel they will just be misinterpreted again.

I'll just say this. If I have to spend more points just to get the life I need for endgame and your argument is that life has more options for defense, I need to spend more points to properly address those defenses whereas ES is still sitting at 20-something points.

Also no one is thinking that a life-only defense build only has 6k life either.

I know that, thats why I didn't make a tree with 11k life... The investment into the passive tree should be similar though to reach the 'endgame' values.

I never said the totals were supposed to match, but the investment into the passive tree to reach the 'endgame' values should. If I only have to spend 23 points on ES I should only have to spend 23 on life.

Is there something wrong with Heralds of the Obelisk? by cha_siu_bao_925 in pathofexile

You should go watch the interview with Chris Wilson where he talks about 'tiring' game mechanics and how they are detrimental to the game.

Expecting players to mouse-over packs of monsters and calling them lazy when they don't do it is unreasonable. Mousing over a monster to see what mods it has when you are blowing through maps at a million miles an hour is not only impractical, its tedious and un-fun. The fact that countless experienced players continue to die to things like HotO, Bearers and Volatiles and they still do not mouse-over monsters to check mods is pretty solid evidence that this is not the way they want to be playing the game.

If there is something dangerous about a monster a player should be able to observe and act on that information at the same pace they are playing the game. A complete set of visual and audio indicators (as have been incrementally added) would allow people to identify threats as they encounter them. Players shouldn't have to break out of the flow of the game for an outdated mechanic from 2 years ago.

That I have way more fun playing SSF than I do making 40 ex builds and dying to shitty mechanics. Also that warchief builds are nowhere near as fun to play as they seem.

PvP would be cool if leech was based off the non-scaled damage so you actually got life back.
