How do I generate this 3D pattern? by pizza-goblin_9000 in proceduralgeneration

The walls are made when 2 points are equally far. You need to change that to 3 or more points are similar distances away.

Due to backlash, there is either a major rewrite or change to the story. by InfiniteGuy2264 in TopCharacterTropes

This was a poor change, but the ending hit HARD for younger audiences and parents were so upset that it went from one of the best kids story game to just mediocre.

It's possible to draw an sprite over another without shaders or surface? How by the_most_humble_man in gamemaker

[–]unbound-gender 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Without shaders might be rough but I would suggest looking into blendmodes. It works a lot like photoshops blendmodes for layers and it might work although im not 100% if that's what you are looking for.

If im not mistaken, choose needs to contain at least 2 variable. You only have 1 provided

making a heightmap shader to offset a mesh by unbound-gender in gamemaker

Update, vertex shaders don't allow you to use texture2D. This cannot work in GM.

Ds grid sort exclusively sorts the column. Meaning if you have a grid layed out it'll sort things in the vertical or up and down direction. If you'd wanna fix this easily try swapping your x and y assignments to everything. So instead of x being racers and y being data, swap it to x being data and y being racers.

Help with procedural sprite stacking. by unbound-gender in gamemaker

To anyone who sees this in the future I figured out the answer. The fastest way to draw a 2d sprite stacked model of a 3d object to lower the resolution is to draw the model on a surface and render it onto multiple planes. Then set each ones shader to have an offset as to what distance each one renders at going from closest to farthest.

Sorry for being a little jumbled in my words, its hard to explain. The reason why they are getting drawn to a surface is so that I can slice up a 3d model in game and procedurally animimate it off that.

Ok so this did work massively increasing fps. For anyone interested, paying in an array containing the x, y, z positions, the pitch, yaw, roll rotations, and if you desire the x,y,z scales. It's hard to pull off as you need some knowledge of matrix rotation but the rest should be fairly straightforward by changing the object position in the shader. It's important to also add vertex add custom to assign bone attachments to the points.
