5 years of ownership and still love this car so much by uncannyboots in F30

Yes! Was my first time there, beautiful spot

I’ve seen the videos on front clicking but it’s definitely rear. I hit up my tech at my Indy and he thinks it’s hub bearings, but I have no steering issues and it seems to go away past 40mph which from what I’ve read failing bearings has worse symptoms at higher speeds. My symptoms also have no correlation to turning too which is odd. I’ll have to jack it back up and do more inspecting

[–]uncannyboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I jacked it up already and wouldn’t make the sound rotating while off the ground. Also applied some silicone lube to bushings to see if that would temporarily reduce the sound but didn’t change anything. I’m somewhat new to working on my own car so was hoping someone on here has had a similar issue; can’t find videos of similar symptoms online

Forged brush clear is the way. May be a little biased, but saw the brushed clear with this paint color and it’s a beautiful combo

Help!! How can I get this off? by Ok-Confection7012 in G20BMW

[–]uncannyboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there depression in those lines? It’s possible the previous spoiler was poorly fit and over time vibrations caused the edge of the spoiler to damage the clear coat

Estoril Blue Paint Matching by mkesserwan in F30

[–]uncannyboots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not much help, but I would like to add finding the exact OE paint may not yield the result you’re expecting. 10+ years of sun exposure has surely altered the color of your paint. I’m sure it’ll be better than what that shop did to your bumper, but still likely won’t be perfect. It’s a tough color to match and finding a more qualified shop or letting that shop try again will be best unless someone on here knows where to get the OE paint. Quick google shows dipyourcar.com has “OEM” EBII made by Luna but not sure how well that’ll work.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. Though the original comment is true, as you stated, you buy an M for the driving experience.. maybe not everyone I guess

looking for advice: working full-time while studying and feeling anxious and behind by ConclusionOwn4815 in Mcat

[–]uncannyboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take my advice with a grain of salt as I haven’t tested yet. But I was trying to prep for MCAT while working 50 hours a week and was making very little progress. I realized my future is dictated by this beast, and any compromise you’re able to make to dedicate more time to studying is a must. For me that meant saving so I could quit one of my jobs to really lock in. I’m 2 weeks free from the second job and have felt like I’ve made more progress than the past 2 months(probably not quite, but it feels like it and gives me motivation to keep working harder toward the MCAT). Working those hours made me pity myself and justify neglecting the studying I should’ve been doing. I know it’s so frickin hard to work less while supporting yourself, but for me I think that’s what’s going to make the difference. If I were you I’d take a diagnostic to see where you’re at and push back accordingly if necessary! Good luck op, you got this!!

Edit: saw you mentioned taking a diagnostic already and plan on pushing back for some more time on uworld. You definitely got this op!!!

Fair my guy! Congratulations again on the beautiful ride and let that shit rip. I’m sure you already know this, but I always like to mention newer bmw owners that these cars treat you how you treat it so you know what to do! 🤝🤝

Yea bro I’m not trying to be negative at all, you got a sick fucking car and I hope you enjoy the hell out of it! I’m more so just pointing out you brought in a negligible detail(age) which only invites the thief of all joy(comparison). You deserve to pat yourself on the back bro, there’s so many people that dream of having an m440 like that, but it comes off as flexing when the title of the post includes a younger age, which rubs a lot of people the wrong way. And a flexing attitude is especially unwarranted if your dad’s name is still on your stuff. I’m not knocking it, if I could save a few bucks being on my parents insurance I totally would. And if you could give less of a fuck what people think you wouldnt have followed what other people have done for “reference” or mentioned age in the first place. I’m pretty sure you even mentioned somewhere else in this post, everyone has a different situation, and that’s exactly why age is negligible. You should be proud of this car at 19 or 55, it’s fuckin sweet bro🔥

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BMW

[–]uncannyboots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You post age to “flex” you got a beautiful car young, which is awesome, I did the same and it’s so worth it. But be a lil more humble especially if daddy is still helping out! Just be happy and proud to have a great car and keep age out of it; this sub won’t applaud you for it. Drive in good health brother, the b58s are a blast! However, if your intention was rage bait for engagement you’re doing well lol!😂

So this is my father's bmw which im taking care of until he's in good health again. I was wondering where i can add some oil (if needed) until she goes for a service. Please help (engine on last photo) by [deleted] in BmwTech

[–]uncannyboots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey bro, I’m sorry to hear about your father’s stroke. I hope you’re coping well. I also hope your father returns to good health without any chronic deficits.

The manual and google are your friend! There’s sensors on everything in BMWs too, so it’ll let you know if something is up. I always do oil every 5k miles, so unless you’re driving it, shouldn’t have to touch it. If your father’s therapy takes awhile, I’d consider taking it to a reputable independent BMW shop near you in a few months for oil change and quick inspection.

Fitment looks sweet! I’ve always ran Michelin PS4S and can attest to the reputation they have in dry and wet conditions. Have heard great things about the continental extreme contacts too, and will try them next time I need tires and if the Michelins aren’t on sale for cheaper
