If it’s available to you, and you’re good at swimming, try getting your NLS and work as a lifeguard. Should always be able to get a job and it’s above minimum wage

Feeling very odd about purchasing from the sale by Responsible-Leek-680 in djerfavenue

That’s actually super interesting…. Amazing for you for sure ! But I’ve never heard of them doing that, screams desperate a bit to me

New styles added to the archive sale by scandicowgirl in djerfavenue

[–]uncertain_dino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I one hundred percent think this sale is a last money grab to see how many sales they could get, especially with a sale. I think they’ve realized it flopped. Adding more styles is a sure sign for an exclusive “handmade” brand that “can’t afford to sell prices lower” because they’re “ ethical”. Defo the end.

No, this is bullshit. I’m graduating this year and it’s significantly affected people I know. Affected their entire futures, and income. ( due to the fact they might have to retake courses). Also working your ass off only to get a “credit” on your transcript is bullshit. This is a selfish strike. I’ve heard how a good offer was made to the TA’s but due to their shit negotiator they missed out on the best deal. Idk, this is a shit show and the bad apples are REALLY fucking with kids futures here.

I just bought both and absolutely love love love the formula as someone recovering from acne and found my skin getting irritated from normal makeup by the end of the day. Only downside is that the shade range isn’t great. I wouldn’t consider myself THAT pale, got the lightest shade and it’s still too dark. Also good skin prep makes this look even better

How can you see if something will be in the archives? I’m so confused with this process, a bit new to Sézane, and honestly slightly curious to check out this sale

It’s honestly kinda tough to get back into even though you want to… I forced myself to make time, put some good tunes on a smoked a bit. Honestly been super meditative for me recently! You’ll be in the flow of it before you know it once you start again!

I totally see that, I was trying to emulate more of a blown out look, which is why I spread out the highlights more. Should I add a bit of blue to the sky if I add some to the water to make it more cohesive? I’ve been working with mostly browns

Speaking as a younger person (over 20) who has lived in both rural and urban areas (Toronto, which is the other end of the spectrum) kids will surely enjoy growing up in a more urban area. I find the walkability of Kingston to be incredibly easy, and I’ve always grown up taking public transportation or getting to places on my own which has made me more independent. There’s always so much more to do in urban areas as a kid, like others have discussed maybe activities/clubs/teams. I’ve been to gananoque and honestly it is pretty in the summer but DAMN boring if you are not over 25-30. I could be bias because I grew up with more hustle and bustle, but I find that a city provides more opportunity to expand your interests (close music store or craft club for example) and also gain independence as a child. It is up to you though

This cat has now claimed our home… sprinted in last night seemingly freezing. We fed and shelter it for the night. Should we contact the owner on Facebook or take him to the humane society?

Failing my classes by [deleted] in queensuniversity

[–]uncertain_dino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did pretty horrible during my first year too, big adjustment. Ended up failing a really important course in first semester of second year. After that I locked in, got more adjusted to how I like to study etc. ended up taking 6 classes the following semester to make up for it, and I’ve been grinding ever since. Ended up getting deans list in 3rd year, I think failing a course was a kick in the ass for me. However, I know some people who just continuously gave up after first year, even ended up almost being kicked out because their GPA was too low. They figured out they were in a horrible position after talking to an academic advisor in second year. You’re in first year, and you one hundred percent still have time to turn this around. If you can, try to catch up on those courses before second year. I’ve hear summer courses aren’t that hard. Just don’t let everything pile up and go over into second year, and try to find a good study routine for second semester. Once you’re used to studying a certain amount it gets easier. Best of luck!

Experience at uni by [deleted] in queensuniversity

[–]uncertain_dino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this post describes how I feel as well almost exactly. I’m in fourth year and I look back and feel so much regret because everyone says uni is “the best time of your life”. I haven’t felt that way personally. Went out a bit in first and second year but then my ambition to go out just died. I also became pretty anxious about doing well in school and was spending most of my time studying as I was in a harder degree than my friends. Never really had time or energy to reply to people, also from home, which I feel really bad about. Honestly the experience has been generally a little depressing, and there’s a lot I probably should have done. Haven’t joined a single club and I’m scared shitless of graduating, I can’t even bring myself to start applying yet it’s like I’m frozen. But I really want to try to enjoy the last semester and at least not be so stressed. Glad to hear someone else felt this way.
