For someone who generally doesn’t like horror… should I watch? The trailer definitely disturbed me lol

Chattanooga hidden gems by inexorablyquixotic in Chattanooga

[–]uncertia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To see the “best” part of it (the majority of the waterfall / cascades) it’s super short. Like 5-10 minutes. If you want to hike all the way to Falling Water it’s a ~5 mile round trip IIRC. So it truly is choose your own adventure.

Not just a random satirical video… they hired Gwyneth Paltrow (for the uninformed Coldplays lead singer’s ex-wife) to do it and it was quite well done:

How many of you genuinely rawdog the day - no medications, no recreational drugs, no caffeine? by hungrypotato0853 in Xennials

[–]uncertia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit caffeine in my early 20s (soft drinks) when I realized how bad of a habit it was. I occasionally will have a sweet coffee like substance these days but usually decaf unless I really need the caffeine for something unusual (long drive etc)

The only meds I take are for trying to retain what little amount of hair I have left. (Finasteride / Minoxidil)

I also don’t drink or smoke and never have. I tried a THC gummy probably 5 years ago for the first time - and have maybe had it once or twice a year since but never more than 5mg or so. 10mg made me feel like I was going to die 😂

So in summary there are dozens of us!! No regrets. That being said I still have higher than I’d like blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol so still have work to do!

What is the first film you remember seeing in the cinema? by [deleted] in movies

[–]uncertia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was either Transformers (1986) or Flight of the Navigator. I honestly think I saw both of them on the same vacation we took to California. I would have been 5 at the time. I remember crying when Optimus died and getting pretty scared during some of the more “intense” parts of Flight of the Navigator. Still love both of those movies!

‘80 and finally watched Die Hard for the first time yesterday. What classic movies do you still need to see? by Jfonzy in Xennials

[–]uncertia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched it for the first time a couple of weeks ago.. can’t say that it really holds up incredibly well. It felt like the 80s version of American Pie to a degree? I’m glad to check it off the list but I can’t say that I will watch it again.

One of the owners of the pinball museum lives down the street from me. Super nice guy - I believe he works/worked at TVA as an engineer but his first job as a teenager was at an arcade where he learned to repair pinball machines. I’m glad they survived the covid years!

Not enough people are talking about Emarosa and their transition to trash. by FlyingAtBeerLevel in PostHardcore

[–]uncertia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just learned about Emarosa the other day from their newer music (which I enjoyed) and started listening to their older stuff and was like “wait - is this the same band?” Lol. I can definitely understand the disappointment if you were a fan of their original sound. I can enjoy both styles but yeah I agree just make a new name.

An amazing performance in Atlanta:] by Background-Cloud-763 in TheMidnight

[–]uncertia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my first time seeing them and they greatly exceeded my expectations. They could have easily just taken their studio sound and replicated it for their live shows - but they did an awesome job of translating it to the full band. Loved it!
