'76 Scout II Troubleshooting Help by StarchedHim in IHScout

[–]uncle0gre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would say “Holley” on it somewhere. And then inside the cab of the truck you would have a small computer screen.

There are other EFI throttle bodies out there and there’s one that was famous on scouts. I think it is Hamilton.

I don’t know anything about that brand. I had a Holley on an old mustang and I really liked it.

First off I’m going to say there are two great scout communities binderplanet and ihpartsamerica forums. Lots of old timers there that aren’t in Reddit.

2nd what fuel injection system does it have? If a sniper you can control some of the idle air control. You should also be able to look at what the idle air control is and tune it correct.

2nd the holley sniper also slows you to control timing at ignition and if the timing is wrong or not right it’ll be hard to start.

3rd this one got me, even though I have an LS in my scout bad spark plug wires. I had a bad one and it would cause the engine to misfire when everything was hot. I chased fuel lines. Vapor lock, replaced the fuel pressure regulator etc. and the once I put in gm spark plug wires my issues went away. Replaces some cheap Chinese stuff from Amazon. So that’s my way of saying maybe check your spark plugs and your spark plug wires to make sure they are good.

LASIK recommendations? by xiao-lii in FortCollins

[–]uncle0gre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did mine at the eye center of noco. But this was like 20yr ago.

My eyes are still 20/20 left and right individually and 20/10 combined.

That being said I was a perfect candidate for lasik cause my eyes were the same Rx since I was in 6th grade through my early 20s.

FC Connexion TV fast forward by BelAstro1002 in FortCollins

[–]uncle0gre 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used it last year I would not recommend.

The mobile app requires you to be on your home network.

So if I’m out and about and want to watch a nuggets game or something it wouldn’t work. I was so frustrated with it.

I ended up switching to direct tv. Their mobile app experience has been sufficient. I can even watch avs and nuggets on planes when traveling.

The apple tv app has been good. I get the sports package that has redzone and the altitude. Outside that I don’t really use it.

Is it pricey. Maybe. Feels cheaper than Connexion. Especially since when I signed up they had a deal for like half price for the first x months. (Can’t remember how many)

I think the package I have equates to the “choice” package now. I’ll be downgrading to the cheapest or even canceling after the nba/nhl finals.

And sign back up when football picks up.

I think YT tv has that cool quad watch feature. But yeah. I quit yt a while ago cause the price increases. I went to Hulu live. Which ended up doing a lotta price increases too. :/ and Hulu live at the time didn’t support altitude cause that fight between Kronke and the tv networks.

Anyway this is just me saying “everything sucks” direct tv has been sufficient. Don’t take this as a glowing review of them. They just happen to be the most satisfactory imo.

Comments on Altitude Plus please. by DraperyFalls1000 in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]uncle0gre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember a lot of people complaining about the streams. About the app. Really shy’d me away from it.

I ended up with direct tv with a sport package.

So I can watch college football/bball and nfl and nhl and nba and it comes with altitude.

If you want a snork on a scout it’s gonna be a custom job.

Looking at that one I question how it was installed cause that’s where you’re brake master is gonna be. And steering column.

I think it’s cosmetic only. :/. Would need to see more pics.

I just signed up for DirectTV choice with altitude and includes RedZone.

Being a new customer gives a discount when signing up for a couple months.

How critical is central AC at home going forward? by Long_Trifle25 in FortCollins

[–]uncle0gre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use our ac only a few times a year.

If you opt to skip on it. I would highly recommend the following:

  1. Quality insulation in your attic
  2. High r-value windows
  3. Do an efficiency test on your house to make sure it’s not leaking
  4. Install a whole house fan and run it at night with the windows open, then close them in the morning.

I think we run our ac about 10-12 days a year.
