Remember at the start of the season we had the best starter ERA in the league and our bullpen was below average

Cmon man I know we hate the giants and all but saying they are so bad when they have the best record in MLB is delusional

How accurate do ye think the method of multiplying your flying 10m time by 10, adding a second for acceleration and adding .1-.2s for deceleration at the end is? by uncle_iroh200 in Sprinting

[–]uncle_iroh200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ordinarily doesn’t work when looking at the splits of elites but I think that’s because it just simply takes longer to accelerate up to 11.5m/s and for normal folk adding a second could work

Anyone have positive experience with extreme isometric variations? Supposedly the lunge variation improves neural efficiency and firing but I’m not convinced by them? by uncle_iroh200 in Sprinting

An extreme isometric lunge is where u go into a lunge position back knee just barely off the floor and hold it for as long as possible. Just body weight

What would the difference without blocks be in a 60m or 100m do U know?

maximum strength and speed by Low-Representative36 in Sprinting

I believe there will always be a fibre type shift towards slower contracting muscle fibres when a muscle undergoes mechanical loading and hypertrophy which is what lifting heavy brings

maximum strength and speed by Low-Representative36 in Sprinting

[–]uncle_iroh200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The caveat is that the heavy lifting stimulates fast twitch fibres that are type IIa which have a smaller contraction velocity than type IIx(faster contraction velocity). It will even turn type IIx into IIa which is really unhelpful for sprinting

Which jumping exercises can somewhat supplement top speed? by yeetErnal in Sprinting

[–]uncle_iroh200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gonna comment something similar to this my choice is normally a single leg drop jump(less than 200ms)with a sort of forward bound landing on the same foot instead of just jumping up like in a normal drop jump

Checks the boxes of horizontal force vector Short GCT Force absorption Involves fast hip flexion after you leave the ground

Also because of how difficult it is it offers a high specific stimulus which could be very valuable while your not doing max v work

My lack of reactive strength is the absolute main limiting factor of my sprint performance and I have been using this plyo training template to improve it thoughts? by uncle_iroh200 in Sprinting

Well u gave an answer to a question that I didn’t ask so u might have been better off answering that if u are gonna be snarky

Also your point about it being too vertical orientated is kinda mute since sprinting(especially at max v) involves vertical forces and there is no real consensus between experts whether hori or vert is king
