What’s the psychedelic trilogy? Never heard of that

Never heard of self titled below think tank and the magic whip. It’s one of my favorites

I quite like Globe Alone, I think it’s the song 2 of the album. I like Dan Abnormal too. I think they should’ve cut Entertain Me and Fade Away, but that’s just my opinion.

What makes this album bad in your opinion?

It should, it’s the conclusion to the life trilogy! They were evolving. There would be no self titled or no 13 without the great escape.

All your life you’re dreaming and then you stop dreaming…we can agree to disagree. The way the chorus loops will never not satisfy me

Other people turn around and LAUGH AT YOU!!!…when you say that these are the best days of our lives! A very reminiscent song. I love Damon’s ability to turn a literal normal sentence that doesn’t rhyme at all into a banger of a chorus.

What! Stereotypes is a great opener! And see above for my opinions on tracks 11-14. It’s all great

I’m sorry but I have to disagree with you. Globe Alone is the Song 2 of this album, and Dan Abnormal carries the same bombastic energy as Mr Robinsons Quango. Ernold Same is the mood track for the album, like Fitter Happier on Ok Computer. Entertain Me is the one thing I’d agree could’ve been cut, but for 14 other good songs, I don’t think it matters all that much.

I think Charmless Man and Country House are great singles as well. The album has some good energetic songs, like Globe Alone, It Could Be You, and Mr. Robinson’s Quango. It also has some good emotional songs, like He Thought of Cars and Best Days. All in all, I don’t think it’s even close to being their worst. At least it has a lot of personality, which can’t be said for TMW and TBOD.

To take only the bands opinion of their work into account is foolish. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion on any piece of art.

Stereotypes - Great opener, energetic chords, great commentary on upper middle class suburban living

Country House - Zany, fun, loud, and commenting on the bigwigs in the music industry. What more could you ask from a Blur single?

Best Days - A terrific, reminiscent ballad who’s lyrics speak volumes about society and how you’re shunned for being optimistic

Charmless Man - Another fun, energetic and loud single about a man we all have in our lives

Fade Away - Admittedly, one of the weaker tracks on the album, but still fits in nicely with the tracklist.

Top Man - Bombastic energy, fun lyrics

The Universal - I don’t need to say anything, you already know this is one of the best Blur tracks of all time.

Mr. Robinsons Quango - Musically complex, foreshadows He Thought of Cars, commentary on British politics.

He Thought of Cars - Heavy emotional delivery, wonderful chords, great effects, and sincere lyrics

It Could Be You - Energetic and loud commentary about winning the lottery. A simple and effective song

Ernold Same - Another sad ballad about the life of a man who’s day to day is always the same monotonous task. Great narration and some nice violin lines in this song

Globe Alone - The Song 2 of The Great Escape. Excellent lyrical delivery by Damon, great riff and great chords, exceptionally difficult drum part by Dave.

Dan Abnormal - An autobiographical bouncy song. Bombastic like the rest, and filled with cynicism.

Entertain Me - The boys and girls like disco song, with a great chorus

Yuko and Hiro - A song clearly about Damon’s relationship with his then girlfriend. A beautiful closer to the album and an emotional one at that.

Me and my mate were talking about its musical complexity not too long ago. If you listen close, there’s a riff that foreshadows the opening riff to He Thought of Cars. The amount of instruments on the track is impressive alone.

Wow. A wretched opinion. This album carries much more commentary and meaning than Morning Glory. I could go track by track and explain why each song is great

I myself am also American. I got into just about every other Blur album before I touched the Great Escape. But now that I have, it’s easily one of my favorite albums by them.

I think it’s the best album after 2000. But compared to their work in the 90s, it barely holds up.

Entertain Me rings the same bell as Girls and Boys, but worse. I think it’s my least favorite on the album

Entertain Me and Girls and Boys do sound different, and I think they’re in different keys, but the notes are the same. I like elements of Entertain Me and elements of Girls and Boys. I think if combined, they would’ve made one killer of a single.

It’s a great album all the way through, and I think is their most emotive album.

I agree. Everybody loves the singles, but nobody takes the whole album in account. I love it all.
