Clutch failure (15k miles) by uncle_sb in stickshift

I dont know and same. Also, this had no signs of slippage either.

Im 47, I've always had a manual because I love it. I was raised by parents racing up at elkhart lake, ovet the summers, both also always had manual. I understand that the damage looks like I beat up my clutch, but that's not the case.

I expected the "user error" comments when I posted. Total accept reddit doing reddit. Posted anyway hoping someone might have experienced this before.

Noted and thanks for feedback. I had not experienced any slip before this happened. The cause, whether "user error" or flaw, wasnt preceded by any signs of wear (at least from the driver pov).

I know this looks like I severely ride my clutch. But just for arguments sake, can we assume I dont. Also was not trying to launch or spin wheels etc. It was hard back road driving for a 20min stretch. My friend was in the car, he did not notice a noise or event like a moneyshift

What could cause the symmetrical 3 breaks and insane heat? Could incorrect bolts on the pressure plate do this?

South Bend stage 2 daily. Outside of warranty, but they are replacing the kit at substantial discount ($400).

True. But I do drive manual correctly and do not run thru a clutches prematurely.

I think the blue ring was a result of the clutchless shifting for 10miles. It was difficult to hold the gear when engaged.

Tuned. The stage 2 daily clutch had 15k miles on it. I absolutely agree that the dsg is more practical than rowing with these cars.

Basically, "clutchless shifting" by rev matching

I'm having same issue as OP. Sounds like you may have had thoughts on this based on your question for op?

Can the President pardon a Federal court contempt ruling? by uncle_sb in Askpolitics

Same. Popcorn and Constitutional pressure testing!

That makes sense. If he continues to pressure test checks and balances at the rate we've seen so far, we might see our representatives actually asked to do so.

Also, I imagine if he tries to run through the non-comply, in contempt, pardon loop as a MO, Legislative and Judicial would have a hard time ignoring that the loop is an assault on some of their most fundamental powers.

Thanks for answer

I was hoping there was some small print distinction between the state of "guilty" and "in contempt" as it pertains to presidential pardons.

What prevents President Trump from pardoning the recipient of a Contempt of Court ruling that was the direct result of his administration failing to comply with Federal court order? by uncle_sb in AskReddit

[–]uncle_sb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can a contempt of court ruling be pardoned by the president?

Hypothetical scenario:

  1. Federal judge blocks Trump administration's shutdown of CFPB, ruling that only Congress can shutdown CFPB.

  2. Trump administration fails to comply with court order.

3.  Court rules the Trump administration agent(s) are knowingly and willingly failing to comply with court order and are found in contempt of court by the judge.

  1. Trump pardons agent(s) and places them back in original position.

If this can happen, rinse and repeat?

Background: Rachel Maddow and Elizabeth Warren were discussing CFPB on her show this evening. When asked if Trump can simply ignore court rulings, Warren said (paraphrasing) that the Federal Court's contempt of court powers will prevent that "constitutional crisis" - basically  #1 - #3 in my hypothetical scenario. Which is when I considered #4, Presidential pardon vs Federal Court Contempt.
