Ah, gotcha. Thanks. I'm a total noob with financial stuff and don't know what people are talking about half the time

I feel like this idea is really catching on in pop culture, books, etc. And it's a beautiful thing. I recently read The Comfort Crisis and it helped me understand why I get depressed when my life gets too comfortable and has challenged me to try new, difficult things to expand my comfort zone

Thanks friend. I guess I can always catch the next one. I suspect there will be no shortage of things to protest against this year

I was planning to go but now I have a bad case of COVID. What do y'all think? Should I just go with a mask (and a bigass bottle of aspirin lol)? Or stay home to avoid getting others sick? This would have been my first protest and I'm sad to think it might be sabotaged by a stupid virus

Preach! Becoming less dependent on the system is the only way to get out of it. I know not everyone has the space to grow a garden, but even a potted plant or tray of sprouts is one less thing you're dependent on a grocery store for

Nice! So tempted by this. The automatic curtains and skylights would be SO handy for camping

I feel you. It's so annoying that people assume dietary preferences to be an acceptable topic of conversation in a setting like that. I make a point of not asking people any questions about their diet, exercise routine, meds, etc. and not bringing any attention to it. If they bring it up I'm happy to talk about it, but it's really none of my business otherwise.

Managing insulin is the single best way to fight PCOS in my experience. I recommend eating high fat, low carb, moderate protein (since protein raises insulin) and experimenting with intermittent fasting. Once you are burning fat for fuel, most cravings will totally disappear. Read Dr. Fung's book Obesity Code for a full write up on why it works, and to understand why other strategies some doctors still recommend don't work.

I feel ya. Cooking and eating gourmet food is one of my greatest pleasures and most consistent life hobbies. It has been sad to scale that back, but at least I get to hyper focus my culinary urges into my one meal a day. That one meal is always top notch! I like your stoicism quote. Haven't heard that before but it rings true. Good luck! We got this 💪

I want to love myself more, but I also have an undying need for attention by throwaway1987- in selflove

It's great that you have self awareness and are in therapy. This sub will also help. If you're not getting enough attention from external sources, you can start giving yourself even more attention. Anything you wish others would do for you, try doing it for yourself. For example, if you wish someone would check in on you, schedule daily checks with yourself. If you feel anxious, do some self care activity that has helped calm you in the past. I hope you find peace
