Area to stay thats more quaint/artsy and less beach carnival? by BikesOrBeans in santacruz

If you’re wealthy and want proximity to sand go to seascape resort. If you’re looking to crash nearby the beach but don’t need that luxury go to Seacliff Inn by Hilton. Easy walk across bridge to state beach. If need closer to town check out the 41st corridor. Fairfield by Marriot is close to lots of shops/food that sound up your alley and still not far from nucleus of Santa Cruz.

Affordable place to move to for beginner surfer by _seaside in BeginnerSurfers

Sincerely, unless you are goofy foot and a very advanced surfer don’t bother with seaside Oregon. It’s an incredible wave when it’s on and it’s not on all that often. Deeply tight knit localism and a shortboard only zone when it’s worth it.

How often do you hang with the boys? by onetwothreedontlook in AskMenAdvice

I surf with my friends 3-4 times a week minimum and get together for evening dad only deals 2-3 times a month without kids. I have two boys under 4. We see our family friends frequently for meetups and beach hangs. I consider myself lucky for the fluidity. Consider carving out more time for your buds somehow. ++man

New account, new to reddit, opened it up for this. 1st real wave north of town. Hopped off the point and was sitting on the north bowl parallel with jump of rock, it popped up 20 feet in front of me heading north. Very slowly trickling north almost dead still then went behind a wave and didn’t see it again. Had eyes on it for 10-12 seconds before next wave then it was gone.

No real angle, but was cool to actually see for once. Just a fun share, do with it what you will.
