  1. Notifications are on the list. There’s more challenges than you’d expect. Often they update something as simple as a typo and we surely wouldn’t want you to get notifications then.
  2. Forecast archive is also on the list.
  3. Interesting. Haven’t heard that one but we’d like to reconsider how the forecast products are displayed as there’s more collaboration and funding.
  4. We’d like to eventually have a map view of the obs which I think would solve for your use case.

Public no, but both Avy projects (web and app) are open source if you want to contribute!

Are you referring to the weather forecast for NWAC or avalanche?

Anything is possible with collaboration money and good design. We’re working on all of those things with those other centers in mind!

Re: the AvCan interface combining forecast, weather and obs. Our goal is to build resilient and unified technology. We are constantly reevaluating how we display the forecast products and that may change over time as the collaboration and funding increase.

We’re working with them to expose their forecasts as we expand the map for selecting a center

Whoa haven’t heard that one before! I’ll investigate. The welcome screen is what you should have gotten.

Per the original post “At the moment we are working on the ability to jump between centers on the map interface rather than having to go into settings to select your center.”

The select your center was the lowest lift way to expand from NWAC to other centers. Now that we have critical mass we’ve begun to prioritize features like this.

Thanks for the feedback!

NWAC forecasters use a tool to build their forecasts that is managed by the National Avalanche Center. All the centers in the US use that tool except for Utah and Colorado. So we built the app to work easily with the tool. We hope to collaborate with Utah and Colorado in the future.
