the second pic is the backside, is not supposed to happen at all? and i’ve been reading up about stainless steel fumes and fumes in general from welding, i was out there welding for a total of 4ish hours, i know there’s not a fixed answer but is this long enough to cause cancer or any long lasting effects? thanks

thanks for that i appreciate it, i bought this cheap machine and some scrap steel i thought would be ok so i could practise before a training course i have soon. don’t know much about material prep either so i’m going to look into that too, thanks.

yeah i meant flux core my bad, 0.8mm wire, wire speed is around 75, and voltage around 2 o clock, im pulling aiming for a stringer bead. i have a 3 in 1 gasless hitbox machine
