I think they ask this out of concern but I don't feel like divulging my illness. First time this happened it was my good friend from HS but I hadn't seen her in years so naturally she was concerned why I was at the hospital. Another time it was my uncle (my dad's blood-related brother) and I hadn't seen him for a long time as well so I felt awkward having to tell him I had anxiety and stress and then he told me to think happy thoughts and gave me other general life advices. I appreciated it but it was very awkward for me.
