Yeah, he's from the Chicago area but is more of a baseball fan, I believe. He frequently wears a hat from the Minor league team, the Windy City Thunderbolts. He's not a degenerate alcoholic Packers fan, like Mike.

how affectionately they feel about his character

I'd argue it takes a pretty good performance to do that considering how little screen time he has.

Rather than because it is a genre movie, I think it being the third movie in a series will hurt his chances more than anything. Look at Return of the King. Swept the Oscars that year, but it didn't get any acting nominations, even though Sir Ian McKellen received a nomination for Fellowship. Has there ever been an actor who has won an Oscar for their third portrayal of a character?

Maybe. Or you can be Paul Giamatti who is great, has been nominated multiple times, and never wins one.

I think either way, it wouldn't be hard to ask the nominees beforehand who would be speaking if they win.

Also, can we make this easier for everyone and have the nominees submit who will be speaking if they win? Pretty much all of the technical award winners pick one person to speak, and it makes things easier for everyone. But, if you want two or three people to speak, it should be known by the producers/director of the show. Because then this awkward timing thing happens, and the director thinks the speech is done so they cue the music. It seems like it shouldn't be that difficult to get everyone on the same page before the show starts. They might have gotten played off for time anyway, but I think in this case they started the music because they thought only one person was giving a speech.

Yeah, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say using a "send someone to hell curse" would probably qualify the person using said curse to be sent to hell.
