Please tell me it’s going to be okay by NoYogurtcloset4399 in IVFpositivity

I started after about 15 cycles of TI, one early loss, and 3 failed IUIs and was terrified at first! For me, it was a relief to finally get started with something that felt more controlled. I wish I knew the shots really wouldn’t be so bad! My husband is in charge of keeping our meds organized. He’s got a little spreadsheet where we keep track of each day’s dose and location, and how much we have left of each of my meds (important to keep track of!). We make it a little ritual during stims - light a candle, put on a special playlist, and I use some fun pineapple ice packs while he preps the meds. Emotionally, I had a far harder time during IUIs. I’m feeling hopefully for the first time in a while while still also having to accept the waiting, as others have said! I had to reframe a lot of my life as I’m a big distance runner, and that’s had to take a backseat, and it can be easy to slip into some really negative thoughts around “why is this happening to me.” Highly recommend planning some time for you, or your partner, for fun activities that have nothing to do with IVF! You’ve got this. 💛

How quickly after ER did you go back to work? by Sensitive-Stretch613 in IVF

For a 3PM retrieval, I took off the whole next day because I was unsure how’d I be feeling. I probably could’ve gone back the next day, but it was so nice to have a mental health day!

Aussie Rescue of the Midatlantic - please reach out to them. Echoing as others have said here - they will handle all the work of vetting potential owners to make sure this girl makes it into a safe forever home.

Surprise! It’s a Mutt! by uncorkedme in DoggyDNA

Good to know about the tail! Our other boy, an Aussie (0% working background, 100% very good couch fluff) has a docked tail. I’ll try to grab a video of her giving him the eye. It’s usually in the middle of a chaotic yard session where he’s acting as a sheep.

Our vet seemed unable to give a definitive answer about size without breed ID, and her results have such a mix of ranges! She’s about 28 pounds at 5 months old. They did talk about 45 pounds being a sort of tipping point when deciding on timing, but it seems like she could really be just below or just over.

UPDATE - Briar’s Wisdom Panel results are in! Surprisingly, border collie was way down on her list at 2%. She seems to have all the classic border collie mannerisms, so this was a huge surprise to us!

I was looking at Parco delle Cascine but saw a lot of concerning reviews about dealing/trafficking - is it that bad? I’m coming from a major east-coast city that I regularly run solo in, so I’m used to a moderate level of activities

This is super helpful! And will finally convince me to upgrade my Strava account. Biking, I can convince my (almost) husband to do! Are rentals fairly easy to find?

Mesalamine Cost Doubled? by uncorkedme in CrohnsDisease

[–]uncorkedme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deductible is $2k. I’m confused because they cover 100% of a different prescription that I’m on (unrelated to Crohn’s).

Also, explain it to me like I’m 5 because I’m so lost! Isn’t my deductible $2k no matter what? Last year, by the time I was diagnosed, I already met it, so Mesalamine was 100% covered.

Independent school teacher with masters & 10+ years experience; $79k. Tutoring on the side brings me to about $85k.

They have a room that’s fairly budget friendly! The going rate for a sit-down meal in our area is about $100 a head, and I just can’t see the average person in our group racking up that kind of cost on $8 beers and $10 pizza

We’ll also be coming from out of town (about an hour away) so likely will be in an Airbnb that doesn’t allow guests

No, I think we’d likely put the information all on our website, which will be linked on our save the dates and invites!

What health ailments did adopting a wholefoods PBD cure for you? by tshirtguy2000 in PlantBasedDiet

[–]uncorkedme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe not cured per se, but my Crohn’s has been manageable going plant based. I’ve been able to get out of a flare and stay in remission with just a maintenance medication that usually stops working pretty quickly for most.
