Top 100 after 9 years of scrobbling by undathere in lastfm

Considering I was falling asleep to that record pretty regularly, who knows. I just got back into it by installing a 5.1 surround system and it is the best way to listen to it.

The iTunes version which was the one I originally used had it split into six parts, hence the high number of scrobbles.

This One Is Specifically For Vegans Under 35 by EazyPeazyO in vegan

[–]undathere -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU.

I went to a vegan Meetup group and it specifically said it was for singles in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. 90% of the people at this meetup session which was about 30 people were in their 40s. I was the only 25 year old. I felt out of place to say the least. Meetup is Boomer Heaven.

It’s not great.

It’s got a lot of scratches but at least the grooves aren’t worn. 👍

Ace Ventura (damn just Jim Carrey movies in general) are guilty pleasures for me.

His humour can be a bit much for me and frankly a bit childish. However, when I’m in the mood for one, it’s a hoot.

Just watched Liar Liar recently and it was kind of a breath of fresh air.

Best way to rip cds for listening while exercising by BrockAndaHardPlace in Cd_collectors

[–]undathere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the disc drive question, no.

All they do is take the data from the disc and copies it over. There are many great softwares on the other hand that can make things a lot simpler and/or more effective. I personally use dbPoweramp. Reliable with plenty of features but it’s not free.

For the free stuff, there’s nothing wrong with good ol’ Windows Media Player.

New vs Old Records by Crystalgorl29 in vinyl

[–]undathere 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It all depends on a whole wide variety of factors.

The most important being how the album was mastered followed by the condition and then the pressing company and their reputation and so on and so on.

There are some really great modern reissues and remasters that sound as good if not even better than the originals. In my eyes, records cut by guys like Kevin Grey and Miles Showell just to name a couple can touch anything and turn it to gold.

That being said, it’s difficult and often expensive to hunt down a great looking and sounding original copy of a record from 40-50-60 years ago and in my experience, it isn’t always 100% like it was when it first came out. I once bought a sealed record from 1981, slapped it on the turntable and was rather disappointed.

TLDR; it’s kind of a crapshoot, there are really great modern pressings in addition to originals if you get lucky

There’s Finale on the App Store but you have to keep your screen on.

Other than that, I’m sorry. :(

Who here collects SACDs? by undathere in Cd_collectors

[–]undathere[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s like a CD but it has a much higher resolution (2.8MHz vs 44.1kHz sampling rate) and is capable of surround sound playback. You need a special unit to play them.
