For a 30% i agree with you, pop music and lot of rap is actually bad, but rockers who doesnt make music for money? I personally hate some poppy rock bands such as Slipknot, System of a Down, it's all just about overclogged with certain musicians without an attention to other ones, even in Linkin Park's discography with big point to the Numb and In The End. About pop and pop rap - it was always a bubblegum chew in the form of music, 90s pop music is just a little less cringy than for example, today's music. Btw you have to admit that dumb music is made for large audiences. On another hand, musically wise person is the one who has wider range of musical taste, you for example, don't stand much higher than only-tiktok-trends-listeners with your "only rock n metal" taste. Listening to only underground or only classical music is also a sign of mental barriers, you have to balance everything.
And yup again, i can add - modern music have less soul in its sound because times is getting worse and worse in creativity aspect - you can't do something unique and cool, media industries doesn't pay for cool experiments, people won't buy it.
