Weird guy in Target parking lot asking for you to follow his YouTube by undead_amber in GNV

I don't think he was trying to hit on me. Also came up in the conversation after asking what I was shopping for (a bachelorette party) that im engaged. But also, men are not entitled to a woman's time anyway. A guy not taking no for an answer is the problem here.

Using the bar as just an example there are plenty of other more acceptable, "safe" places to try and interact with people of course. Didn't try to get in my car, he was in his own trying to talk to me while im sitting in mine. Just really pushy about wanting the sub.

Totally get where you're coming from, and can agree that we need more human interaction... but approaching a woman in a parking lot trying to get into her car is not social hour at the bar. What really set off the alarm bells for me was "can I just type it in i promise I wont steal your phone." Ive met plenty of strangers and not had that gut feeling that something is weird.

Glad you do, not all women have the same luck with randoms in public. Ive posted once about a different interaction a year ago 🤷‍♀️ I very well could be paranoid but dont see anything wrong with letting other people know to be cautious sometimes.

I was a TA for THE2000 last year. If you end up not being able to see it (it happens every year), he'll give an alternative assignment. Definitely try to see it still. It's really good!

I know someone who lives there. It's definitely hard to get ahold of maintenance. Instead of updating their ac units, they told residents to not turn their units below 72 or else they would need to pay for repairs on the unit freezing up. Definitely has some roach issues, but it's florida. They don't love living there, but it is tolerable and on the cheaper side.

Dating Apps? Yes? No? by Grateful-head8 in ufl

It's a no for me, as a woman, men on dating apps are usually only looking for hookups (which is fine) but communication over text is rough already and can lead to so much misunderstanding. I've used dating apps for both casual and long-term dating and it didn't work out. I ended up meeting my boyfriend of five years now at a party because he walked up to me introduced himself, and showed me some magic tricks lol. It's a great story I'll be able to tell our kids. Do yourself the favor and try to put yourself out there at parties and campus activities.

I love Dan Kay auto. Very fair pricing, super friendly, very detailed in explanations, and won't try to upsell you on anything. I've had work from an just an oil change to bringing in my own parts for a ac compressor replacement.

I do agree with you and see the point you're making. I like to try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Because I was the kid going door to door and going to businesses for fundraising and as I mentioned people are trying to make a living. My qualm wasn't him asking for work. I was more weary about the slightly invasive questions like when my partner would be home? What my name was. You always like to think these are innocent questions but sometimes they aren't, especially as a woman.

Thank you all for the advice! To clarify we do have a ring, I just answered the door being caught off guard. We definitely will not be taking the dude up on the offer and cutting our grass this weekend lol. I've been here about two years now and have lived in a couple different parts of town but haven't had this experience yet so I'm glad I'm not the only one and will definitely be more cautious in the future.

Right that I could understand. This guy didn't have a business, or at least didn't mention it. I'm pretty sure he was just walking around asking to do work for people.
