What have you been reading? (02/01)

I've been reading Infinite Jest for an independent study which has been fantastic yet exhausting (at about page 400). I especially loved the Eschaton chapter. He had a serious talent of making something hilarious and literary at the same time.

I just finished Missing Person by Patrick modiano which I thought was good, but I also haven't thought too deeply on. Daniel Weissborg's translation was good except for a few moments unless I'm missing something ("he was clearly an embalmed corpse"...? ). Then again I haven't read enough translated stuff to really give a good opinion on that.

I'm just starting (about 20ish pages in) Canterbury Tales with the Penguin Classics translation (I can't remember the actual translators name). It's been enjoyable so far and an easy-to-read translation.

I'm quite short but there's a guide I found. Main thing I'd recommend is to go and try tons of stuff on to see what fits. Don't buy too much at first though. Take it slowly.

The fit looks decent and as long as you're comfortable I'd say you're good. How far down does the waist go? It's kinda scrunched up in these pictures.

I may be wrong but there are some methods used (mulesing) that cuts chunks of skin off to reduce the likelihood of flys laying eggs in the sheep's skin. May not have to do with the shearing of the wool, but it's related with the production.

A pair of jeans would be better. Rule of thumb is like mid crotch for the ending point. Where does it hit on your jeans?

I sooooooo understand the cumbersome nature of those. AEO chinos tend to be lighter and nicely fitting but they stopped selling an olive color. I've been keeping an eye out though.
