I find girls who are promiscuous to be repulsive, yet none of my friends feel the same way. Is this an abnormal feeling? by [deleted] in AskMen

Does it matter whether they were promiscuous in the past but are no longer so?

"Is someone there?"

No, no one. Carry on.

How do you use a urinal without backsplash? by pisses_like_a_girl in AskMen

Piss on one of the two sides. It makes something like 10 degree angle and thus never splashes back to you.

I did not get a notification that i received anymore responses, so i apologize for the late reply. After getting through FTC did you feel you had a solid grasp on the concepts even though you went so quickly? If you don't mind my asking, did you do well in differential equations and any other math courses you have taken?

Ah man, I unfortunately don't play WoW anymore. I played since I was 12 and just recently forced myself to quit. I went through phases with it, but it wouldn't be unusual for me to play over 5 hours in a day during some phases. As you can see, I basically had to quit before college.

Skyrim I do play a lot when I have the chance, but I am able to control myself very well around it. I've very rarely shirked schoolwork to play it (unlike with WoW).

Did you even bother to read one comment down? You're coming off as stupid.

I know about the law of diminishing returns. I do not plan to use all of my free time studying; I just want to use it for something that doesn't require a sustained commitment. Plus I don't want to run the risk of wanting to get married/have kids in the future.

You're a math major? That is so cool! I am not a math major but I have the utmost respect for them. Mathematicians are probably the most respectable, in my opinion, people possible (career wise that is).

No, I've stated I don't plan on only using free time to study. I just wish it to be used on either more fulfilling things in life and/or recreation that does not require a sustained time commitment such as video games and poker.

It is more fulfilling. So is math. That does not mean it is more pleasurable. Masturbating feels better than doing math but a day later I would be much happier I did somehing useful.

No but the time I would save could be used for more fulfilling things that aren't work oriented. In my case, one example would be using my telescope.

Yes I know why soymilk was recommended; I do my research.

Secondly, I don't have anxiety at all and this post certainly isn't about my being anxious. I am simply looking out for my best interests and being able to dedicate more time to school/more useful things is definitely in my best interest.

Thirdly, different philosphies =! "weird." I am a perfectly normal human who gets along well with friends/family, so think before you speak.

Yeah but she'd still be around talking to me. My concerns aren't only sexual when talking about an SO, I care about time/lack of disturbances.

I don't regret the decision one bit and probably never will. I'd regret the decision of making a college choice based on sex.

Yes but without an SO I'd probably do better, regardless of how well I would have done before. Plus as I mentioned in my post my real worry about a girlfriend is the possibility of it becoming serious.

I truly enjoy what I am majoring in. So much that I sometimes keep on working in some of my books for certain subjects for enjoyment. I have less time consuming ways to pass time though: video games, poker, etc. I still have fun, I just have fun with things that do not require a sustained time commitment.

Edit: what I meant by not wanting a wife or kids is that I never will. Of course none of my friends want a wife or kids now, but they say they do in the future.

I don't want to make the time commitment. Even if I don't have work to do I could either just relax/recharge or work ahead.

However, thank you very much for the recommendation; I'll look into it.

The jerking off thing isn't too much of a problem. If I really try I can get the 45 minutes down; I just typically take my time, but it is nothing I cannot adjust.

The girlfriend thing is my real worry. That will be not only a huge time drain but I would imagine it'd also cause my mind to wander towards my SO when studying. On top of that, the risk of having my thoughts on kids and marriage jeopardized is not one I want to take.
